No problems here - I've seen other discussions way out of control and I don't think this is 1 of them

...............yet Just kidding. We have some valuable input on the thread. Turns out that I'm glad I got it started in the first place

As for the 6.0L Vs. Lightning, I don't know. With the 135HP chip it could be close. But don't forget the weight issues. If I were to put my truck against the lightning, true it has like 150HP+ increase in power, the thing weighs like 6K pounds So, while fast, they are BIG. I bought mine for what it's ment for TOWING (well, ok, and a little racing too )

In street racing the first one to 45 MPH is the winner. Good reaction time and traction are very important. Anyone that keeps on past that is looking to kill theirselves and someone else.

That's the Spirit! The other day in traffic I punked an unsuspecting guy and his girlfriend new Kenny Brown Cobra with my mildly modified 98 convertable GT. I got about ten cars ahead of them before it closed up. When traffic thined out he blasted past me. But the race was over! That is the way a dishhonest racer like me behaves and the only way I could win that one!

MaXRSmart may need to check his times for the Lightning and Mustang GT. I believe the Mustang is around 14.0 in the 1/4 mile, and the Lightning is in the high-13's stock...so they definitely "stand a chance." With a few cheap mods, the Lightning is in 12's.
The Lightning that got denied was not at the strip. He thought would pull out and pass me in the passing lane. I romped on it when I saw him pull into the 2nd lane to go around me. He was only able to just hang with me and he backed down at about 90 mph. About then the lane merged back into one lane and he had to drop back behind me. That is the experience I had with a Lightning.

I am not blowing away all of these vehicles. We are talking about some very fast vehicles. Ususally they can keep up or fall off a bit. Usually it is the drivers of these vehicles that are blown away that this big *** truck can move out like that. The expressions I get are priceless.

I am in the very very low 14 sec. range with my truck. I could do better if I can get my reaction time down a bit. My truck has dynoed at 430 HP at the wheels with the mods that I have done.

Engine mods include Quadzilla box in the 125HP mode, 4" DPPI exhaust, AFE intake with more on the way.

The fast truck belongs to a guy in our club that is building a 6.0L regular cab short bed truck. That is not a typo! He had the frame cut down to fit a short bed. Now that truck is a rocket!! I know better than to mess with him.

Here is a pic of that truck if you are curious.

Here's one at 12.30 @ 110 http://www.dieselinnovations.com/
Hooking up is my bigest problem. I need to find some 15 inch rims so i can mount some slicks.

I know what you mean by blown away!

I have the Predator on mine, w/ exhaust and gauges on the way. I am having a great time shutting down all the rice rockets at the lights.

That is moving! I expect my truck to be there as well. My old Dodge Ramcharger off-road racer had a big block 440 that made 475HP. With the top, doors, and tailgate removed (4100 lbs. run weight), and a 3200 rpm stall convertor it could run 14.2 second quarters. It totally blows my mind that my crew cab diesel can do the same thing.

How do you like your AFE intake?

My advice to anybody going up to a light and a superduty is besides you. Has a powerstroke. Forget it. Admit your defeat rather than be humiliated.

I love it. The only design change that I would make would be to add a access door to the top of the air box can. You would then be able to pull the air filter without having to pull out the whole can. If you are looking at getting one, you might want to hold off. They are going to introduce a new Stage 2 system very soon.
