Help: clunk noise from frontend

Well, as promised, I am reporting back my experiences with this noise. It does happen anytime the A/C or the "combo vent" is on when the truck is started. Mine's the door closing.

So, I think everybody's suggestion to "live with it, it's normal" holds water. It does catch me off guard occasionally, though.

Help: clunk noise from frontend

I have 2001 SD350 4WD Dually Extended cab. My dealer said the clunk was the A/C compressor unloading the oil in it on start-up. Not sure if that was it or not. Doesn't do it much anymore with 21000 miles on it. I do have the cold start-up clatter now. Steering wheel shimmy, doors touching at the top delaminated windshield etc. Not happy at all with my truck.

Just curious, how in the world did your auto hubs give you problems at start up?
