You know I just reread your post and it got me thinking: Why the HECK isn't that Ford's diesel engine? That would be SWEET. You could get an allison automatic, or option a 9 speed road ranger!

My question is what motor was it that Ford supplied them for the test? I'd bet good money it's not the same re-flashed, de-tuned motors a lot (most?) of us are driving. Also, was this against the new dmax with 590ft lbs of torque?

I don't doubt that a good running 6.0 will outpull the old dmax but I sure wish I had one of those in my truck.

I like Cats as well, the one in our dump truck (5-ton chassis, Chevy C-70) has done quite well with very little problems at all. It has had 12,000lbs of gravel in the bed and another 16,000 on a trailer with a larger Bobcat and tractor on it. The cab floor is rusted out, but the engine is great. A N/A 3208 Cat.

Here's a link for all you cummins lovers.

Ford should really consider this engine, maybe with a little weight reduction.

I'd love to see some of the larger engines like on the boats. They make truck engines look like Briggs and Strattons!

You wouldn't have a picture of the Chris Craft would you? I love old boats like that.
