I question the intelligence of anyone who pulls heavy load at 100+ MPH. That's just me, though.

If it wasn't for the guys with PSDs that think they really have something, we wouldn't have to.

By the way I don't think that new motor is even released yet.In two indipendent test the Cummins was third in all testing but everyone turns a blind eye to that. Go get your self that cummins and I'll see you out on the road just look for me in the passing lane way up in front of you.

Unlike you, we actually USE our trucks. We've had GMs with the big gas motors and cams, we've had the Ford diesels and now we use Cummins. And we work our trucks hard...actually we abuse them (but we don't admit it because we don't want the warranty voided ). And since I have experience with all three, and since I live by the plant where the PSD is built (therefore I hear the inside scoop on stuff), I am more qualified to give an opinion of the trucks than some magazine that doesn't do anything but race three trucks and then choose a winner.
And yes, our Cummins carries 4,000+ lbs. in the utility bed 24/7, and it will accelerate like mad up KY hillsides. And sometimes we have to tow forklifts that go around 15,000 lbs. in addition to that. And 60,000 miles in 15 months on top of that. And this Cummins never complains and has never given us a single problem whatsoever. If you got the nerve to ride, come on down and I'll prove it. Otherwise, please hush. Cause obviously YOU have never owned all three and therefore YOU can't comment.
P.S. The Cummins also achieves better gas mileage than the PSD, especially when loaded. I don't know where you guys are getting that the Cummins is hard on fuel. With 25,000 lb. total combined weight (truck and trailer) we're seeing 13. 16 with just the load on the bed and no trailer. I don't think our PSD ever got 16 mpg the entire time we owned it.

I got a 95 dodge ram cummins. Has 359,000 miles. Changed the water pump and alternator and other regular wear and tear items like brakes. Oh yea the tranny is stock and hasn't been replaced either. It has never failed me yet. I use it to tow a 42 foot ex navy rescue boat with a 6-71 detroit diesel. This boat weighs a ton. I know it is overloaded and have tried our excursion to tow it, but the cummins is the only thing that will pull it. Pulls very slowly, but at least it pulls. Our excursion with the powerstroke won't even budge.

That's just plain b/s. My 460 can do that.
Your Cummins' mileage will drop off as you go above 65mph.
But as for me, I know the truth, the Cat 3126 will eat the Cummins for lunch.

I think the ford is better because it has glow plugs, and recalls, and needs a fuel filter every oil change, and cost more to maintain
interesting fact, Ford was looking at using a V8 Cummins before they came out with the 6.0... should have thought of that back in '88 when Cummins asked them If they wanted their B5.9 for their pickups...
I beg to differ, I have mine turned up beyond 500hp and sometimes I wish I had more

I guess all of those problems, which took a whopping 10 minutes of time, are imaginary.
I used to admin the TDR server. There were and still are plenty of problems with the trucks. Don't kid yourself, they all have problems, not just one brand.
