Ultra Wheels

I have seen a couple of SuperDuty's with Ultra Wheels. They have a couple of styles of wheels that I kind of like. But I emailed them and they were not much help. Does anybody know of a retailer chain or website that carries these and could give me some info or could you guys give me some info like price, weight rating, hub or lug centric, ect. I think I will be going with a 16.5 x 9.75 wheel and some Cavalier Mud Kings 33 X 12.50 X 16.5. Thanks in advance.

CBSUPERDUTY,

Just wondering why you choose the Cavalier Mud Kings over the BFG MT KO'S?

Yeti...That is not set in stone. I have seen a couple SuperDuty's in my area with the Sport King AT's and they look sweet. But I don't know much about mud tires and from the few people I know that have had them they told me that it is something to be desired and that they have had better luck with Mud Kings than BFG's (because of balancing and tread wear). So my logic is try the cheeper of the two and if I don't like them try BFG MT's. I don't know I just have to get through this wedding and then hopefully get some money together for some mods....

CBS,
I just went through the ordeal of finding a set of 16.5X9.75. I really wanted to put the BFG AT on my truck and I liked the 35X12.50. Well, after doing A TON of research, I found out that very few companies make a 16.5X9.75 wheel with a 8 on 170 lug pattern. I really liked some of Ultra's wheels but I could not get the size I needed. (Les Schwab carries Ultra. As long as you don't have to talk to the salesmen there, they have a lot of wheel selection to look at.) you might want to look there. Anyway, I ended up having to change my tire selection because I couldn't find a wheel that would fit my truck and one that I liked. If you have any questions let me know.....I have spent about a month looking for these wheels so I might be able to save you some time. -John

So did you get those mud kings mounted? Let me know how much weight they used to balance the tires and also how is the highway ride quality?

Big_Blue1.... So does Les Schwab take phone orders and ship items?? What did you decided to do??

Warmdye...No I didn't get them mounted yet. Getting married in about 10 days and there is no way I could sneek that one buy. If that is what I go with then I will let you know. I heard from some guys I know that they had the same problems as you with the BFG M/T's.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 01-Aug-02 AT 05:04 PM (EST)]CBS,
I ended up going with the BFG AT 315/75/R16 which is basically a 35 inch tire that will fit on a 16 inch wheel (Backordered two weeks ). I ordered the American Racing Outlaw II from Les Schwab. I don't really like buying from Les Schwab but they are selling me those wheels for $91 a piece (shiping included) so I decided to go for it. The overall package is a little more than I was going to spend, but isn't that how it always turns out If you Still need the 16.5 wheel, check out this link for American racing...it wsa really helpful to me http://www.americanracing.com/applicationguide/second.asp?make=FORD+TRUCK%2FVAN%2FSUV+++++++

Also American eagle has a few options as well. I believe Ultra wheels are made by the same company and in the same factory as American Racing, they just carry a different name. If you are stuck on Ultra, I would suggest calling Les Schwab and talking to them. They can help, but they will also try their hardest to sel you something else if they don't have what you are loking for. Good Luck, Let me know if you have any more questions -John
P.S. Congrats on the wedding
