My new(to me)slide in camper.

It's a 1993 Fleetwood Elkhorn 9vs with 2140lb dry weight, in amazing shape and picked it up for $3000 CAD. Everything works and has a 3000 watt inverter, new water pump as well as 2 new propane tanks. Didn't grab a roof pic, but it's re sealed just recently and solid. No a/c, but I'll figure that out here soon.

That camper should work pretty well on a shortbed because it has all the heavy stuff at the front, which keeps the center of gravity in front of the axle. Fridge, propane, water tanks, all at the front, which is a great design.

Previous owner had it in a GMC 2500 short bed on 4'' lift and said he couldn't tell it was back there most times so I should be fine even on the 8'' lift. You know this design well or just looked it up?

Looks good , was it stored inside ? Is that left front jack leaning , not straight ?

It will do the same job as a $ 45 K truck camper.

I purchased it from a retired farmer in his 70s and he purchased it from a farmer as well and the unit has been stored inside it's whole life and it shows. The front jacks are set up to be wide enough to clear a dually bed and the front left lack leans a bit, but it doesn't wobble or anything and I will deal with that in short order.

Funny enough the farmer I bought the camper from lives just a few farms down the road from the older gentleman I purchased the truck from 2 years ago and the camper is the same make as my 26' bumper pull(Fleetwood)and even has the same looking exterior so It just felt right lol.

Here's the 1987 bumper pull:

I didn't have to look anything up, the access panels for all of that stuff are visible from the outside. After being around truck campers for many years, you can see a lot of details with just 1 look, haha.

If you haven't set that camper on your truck yet, be careful about cabover clearance the first time you do it. It looks like your cabover will probably hit the top of Ford's tall cab design, so you might need some 2x4's or something under the camper to raise it up enough to clear, if it doesn't already have them.

Yeah was thinking of putting down a perforated 4x8 rubber kitchen mat first to help prevent sliding and keep water off the bottom of the camper.

Something like this:

Nice camper.
Looks like the cabinets above the dinette is a drop down bunk. I have one and it is used for chair storage and a small portable BBQ.

I agree with watch your cab clearance.
