2024 F250 Dash Rattle?

I have a 2024 F250 7.3 with just under 400miles on it. I started noticing a “rattle” that sounds like it’s coming from the steering wheel/dash area. It isn’t constant, seems to be most prominent when I’m slowing down. Anyone else have this issue?

Hey there! I’d like to assist you with this concern. Could you please send us a private message with your VIN so I can look into this further?

YES!!!! 2 trips to the dealer and they can't (won't) hear it! Mine started about 700 miles in and tends to only start after driving 15-20 miles. Most prominent over small irregularities in the pavement. I can feel it in the steering wheel.

Does this seem familiar? Starts at 20 seconds.

Yupp! I noticed it for the first time on the second half of my ride home from work last night, started with feeling a vibration/thunk (best way I can describe it) in the steering wheel and then noticed the noise when I was almost home. I started driving into work this morning and it seemed fine so I thought maybe I had been imagining things...until I got about 2 miles away from work (my drive is about 19 miles) and it started again. I'm definitely curious to see what it does on my drive home tonight and try to see if I can get a video of it somehow.

My dealer keeps blaming it on stuff in the truck....so I'm in the process of making it as empty as it was on delivery. Even pulling the glove box out and leaving it home next time I visit.

Second week of driving my new '24 XLT F250.

Been hearing a rattle from the rear of the cab.
Today I discoverd the latch on the back of the passenger rear seat does not engage.
Will be taking it in.

Good luck on getting yours fixed.

There is another post (or two) that look and sound similar to this. I found an earlier post and tagged onto it because my '23 has started knocking a little, a muted knock coming from something in the steering/front end. It's either the intermediate steering shaft or something in the linkage/trackbar area. I think there is a very limited recall out there right now (not for mine) but for something that sounds very similar. Very interested to see what you find out.

After reading up on this recall and looking at some parts diagrams I'm going to go for a ride this evening and get it to do its thing. Then find a nice parking lot, and drive around a bit while putting pressure upwards on the steering wheel with my legs. Film @ 11.

No luck ferreting out this weasly rattle on my own, but FMC opened a case and I got a call from my local dealerships service manager at 0800 this morning. I'll be taking it to them in the morning and he's going to test drive it while it's acting up .

Went for a ride with the service manager this morning. He identified it as a bad lower steering column. The parts are ordered, here's hoping!

@jtexfisher keep us posted! I've driven around 500 miles this past week, on and off road, and mine seems to have subsided a little? I don't want to count eggs before they hatch, and I know knocks don't usually heal or correct themselves. Interested to see if the lower shaft fixes yours.

They replaced the shaft Friday, only about 50 miles on it so it'll be some time to really know. The first time I noticed the issue was around 900 miles so it'll be a few weeks to really tell.
