Just to add to this…
Top pic - OP’s eBay filters. Notice the instructions and oring.
Old style box.
The instructions and oring is packaged with the filter, not separate.
Could just be the lighting - oil filter box colors are not as vibrant, the black is ‘faded’ and the red not as deep.

My own Ford dealer filters - pics
Filters from reputable Ford dealer.
Ford dealer filters.
Instructions and orings packaged separately.
Left - My own personal old stock from 10 yrs ago.
Right - With the new filters.

OP - Get to know your dealer, or @bismic posted a good site for legitimate filters online.
Bismic is one of the most knowledgeable 6.0 guys out there, he’s not suggesting for no reason.
Imo - I would not use those in a 6.0. If those come apart in this type of oil / fuel injection system it can wreak havoc.
I won’t even use my 10yr old filters, just in case…

These fuel filters last for 10,000 miles minimum - 15,000 if normal driving. OEM filters are NOT a big expense compared to MOST things (especially fuel - no longer cheaper to run a diesel).
Diesels are not for everyone anymore. They are complicated, finicky (due to all the emissions junk and sensors to regulate emissions), and expensive. I love them, but I will acknowledge the issues with them.

But the oil filter I can do every change. I'm just moaning and groaning. I have a passion for diesels like I do for burning a rod or pulling a mig trigger. Expenses are fine. I am continuing to learn. Thank you all for all this help. I'm buying a new fuel filter and returning the other
