Seat upholstery

Did search google and fte. Nothing coming up to answer my question. I asked in the 1973-77 forum and was told to try here. Looking to recover my seat which is original in my 1977 highboy and like the set up of the vinyl on the entrance side and center of the seat in this generation of truck. I think it will wear better than velour all the way across My question is are the seats dimensionally the same between these two generations of trucks. Thanks in advance.

The 73-79 bench seat will bolt straight into a 67-72. Same runners. The padding is made differently on the 73-79s, especially the seat back.

If your looking for original seat upholstery for your 1977, try:

Yes to the above. I found a 73 seat in good shape and it bolted right into my 72 highboy. The padding is different and I used upholstery kit for a 73 as well.

I was hoping to be able to purchase a 72 style cover my 77 seat frame. I’m guessing I will have to have custom made. Like the idea of vinyl on the side of the seat for wearability. Thanks to you all for responding
