Need Help! 4X4 front driveshaft, new shaft too short or not?

Hello, I've been having problems with my front drive shaft and recently replaced all of the U joints with moog. I didn't use thread locker and after about a 1000 miles I lost the bolts that connect the rear to the transfer case flange, it made some noise and broke an ear on the end of the double cardanjoint that mount to the flange. So I hard time finding the exact size replacement drive shaft... my original one compressed is 42" and extended is 45-7/8" the new one I ordered is 41-1/4" compressed and just a hair over 44-1/4" extended... I ordered the shorter one because I was worried that too long could cause damage if the suspension doesn't bottom out before the shaft. But Now I'm concerned that the shorter shaft could limit travel or worse come apart? So my question is the new shaft is 1-5/8 shorter overall and only has about 3" of overal travel compared to the originals 3-7/8". So before anyone says it I already went to a shop, they wanted $900 to make a new one and $500 to fix my old one and showed me that there was some slop that would remain in the extension of the old one. The new one cost less then $200 complete. So am I over thinking this or do I have a problem?
