Couldn't agree more... about adding more filtration to the fuel system. I have an S&S DPK to be installed and an Air Dog 4G. The Air Dog will supply the stock DFCM and Air Dog sent the 10 PSI spring that has to be put into the pump body so the DFCM can be fed at 10 PSI. I have an inline fuel pressure gauge that will be installed so I know the Air Dog is at 10 PSI and to check the fuel pressure feeding the DFCM to check on filter status, like I do for DFCM fuel supply pressure.

That's what's nice about the Banks iDash. It has a fuel pressure PID from the DFCM at the CP4 for the 11 to 16 6.7s. I run my filters out to every third oil change which always works out to be just short of the factory 22.5k mile max filter range spec... So when I monitor the pressure from the DFCM, it does not drop much throughout the service life of the MC fuel filter set.

But I want to wait to install the Air Dog until I have the funds to buy a Titan Tanks 50 gal tank and get one of S&Bs fuel pickups too. Pics and info when I do...

While on the subject of fuel filters, I just bought a 2021 F350. Having read all the horror stories on fuel pumps, I had the dealer check to see if the fuel filters had been changed. He could not confirm that so I asked for a set of filters. Got home with them and one is the standard one for the top. For the bottom, I had a round filter media. I thought that the 2021 had the rectangular one with the water separator? Crawled under looking for it and did not see it. 2021 manual says that there is one inside the fuel tank? I am confused.

Yep you should have these...

Might want to look in the factory 6.7 Powerstroke supplement that came with owner's manual for clarification.

You may have the inner filter as @speakerfritz told me his 2019 F450 has. there's an access door on top of the fuel in front he said. If not, the factory fuel filter/water separator will be in front of your fuel tank.

This is a pic of an aftermarket mod that has hoses connecting to the factory primary fuel filter housing...

thanks. I found it just a lot further back than I was looking. They sold me the wrong one. Back to the store.

Front of tank

Outside of tank near the rear end of it.

I like how that one is tucked up there and out of the way... But harder to access the fuel lines if you had to... If it ain't one thing, it's another right??

Same on my F-450. I want to replace it with the SPE, but looks like a major PITA to get to the fuel fittings.
