I had replaced mine with a Rancho after experiencing DW once. When I got the letter I put the stock unit back on and too it in. They replaced it with a Rancho. Now I have the one I bought in the garage since it has a lifetime warranty. Ill install it if or when the one thats on the truck fails.
Rancho? The last I checked, the stabilizer is a FoMoCo branded shock made by Hitachi. Visually not much different, black. Anybody else get the recall done and find a Rancho was installed?

Admittedly the last part# I saw was from a 2020 TSB, looking it up now it says no longer for sale.

As promised, pics of the steering damper my Ford dealer installed on 6-7-23.

I reattached the bellows once but then quit worrying about it…

Off the shelf Rancho. Not even a made for Ford part. Any chance the dealer used that because of an inability to get the FoMoCo part, or did Ford finally say screw it, just start using an aftermarket damper.

On a side note, those Ranchos appear to rust quickly.

I'm just outside of Houston. Everything rusts quickly here.

Or is the dealer going above and beyond and saying “ford is not fixing the problem we are just going to keep our customers happy?”

After talking to the service advisor yesterday I just went and picked up my truck. They did not have the parts for either of the recall issues which they could have told me prior to my appointment. They were still diagnosing my problem after 2 days. I had considered the Bilstein steering damper before so I went ahead and ordered one. A front end alignment and replacement of any worn components will also be done. So my first trip to a Ford dealer since the trucks first oil change was less than I had hoped to put it mildly.

I received the letter when my truck was five years old. Id long since replaced the damper with a Rancho 9000xl along with the shocks. Fortunately no problems before or since.

Literally just dropped my F350 off at the dealership this morning and had it delivered back to my house just after lunch time... Originally they quoted that it could take 24-48 hours to complete the work but I guess they had the parts in stock...

I crawled under the front end and can confirm there is a nice new black OEM damper installed... Right away I can tell the difference driving around town... It really feels like Im pushing larger tires and the steering input takes more effort... I'll report what it feels like on the highway if I get a chance!

Cheers!
