Buy steer tires and be done. People make this issue so much more complicated than it needs to be. I was so happy with my Michelin XZE's I put them on the rear also. No vibration, wondering, just smooth cruising. Don't overthink it or listen to the propaganda from 350 guys.
I hate noisy, rough riding cleated tires

Steer tires absolutely suck in the mud and snow. Probably great for the pavement princesses out there, but for those of use who actually take our truck off of paved roads, the steer tires really suck. And in heavy rain with standing water, there is no escape route for the water to get out, leads to more hydroplaning.

So in summary.....the JK wheels are about 1" thick at the hub, and shaving them down gets them to just a hair under 3/4". I measured the available hub space on my axle, and it is only 3/4" wide. So shaving these down still doesn't make hub available for a hub-centric wheel, so still need to use the sleeved nuts, and the outer rim is only brought inward less than 1/2".
When I order, I won't bother getting them faced down. The unknown reduction in strength is a negative, as is the need to still have sleeved nuts. Moving the outer lip of rim inward 1/2" isn't enough of a Positive to override the negative.
I really wish there was a steel inner in 20" available, like Ford uses on the 19.5....thinks would be so much simpler.
DDC says all their wheels are hub-centric....anyone ever have the opportunity to measure how thick the wheel is at the hub on one of those?
Not sure if FUEL wheels are hub or lug centric.

If you are going to be shaving down the face of the wheel, one option would be to leave a hub-centric lip on the face of the inner wheel. Then you bore a step into the outer wheel that engages with this step on the inner. This would be very similar to how hub-centric spacers are made. In other words, the inner wheel would be hub-centric to the axle as factory but the outer wheel would be hub-centric to the inner wheel. This was not my idea but something I saw someone do with some semi-wheels a while back. I wish I had pictures to share.
On the other hand, I'm not too concerned with the sleeved nuts. I think its a good way to lock the wheels together. In fact, I just ordered a set of 20s from JK myself and didn't mention any of this to them. Just wanted to share another idea on the topic.

My truck is just a little F350, not a big 450 like this thread is all about but I'm posting because this thread did help me decide on what I got. I went with the JK Motorsports 20" Classics and went with the big ten lug (semi truck) center caps. The best part is that they are a direct bolt-on with no adapters and they tuck in very nicely. My truck is a chassis cab which means the rear end is 3.8" narrower overall than one with a pick-up bed so keep that in mind. Tires are 275/65/20 Cooper Rugged Trek. The bed is a Bradford Built step side.

Read this thread from the beginning, lots of info.
TLDR for you; Lots of options for aftermarket wheels in 20/22" (DDC, Fuel etc) - If you want something less flashy or similar to stock but in a 20, look up JK motorsports.

I'm seriously considering the JK wheels for my 22 F450 as finding locatuons to get the 19 5 tires, cost of them and a place to install isnt so easy for how i travel. . My head is however spinning on what tires to use. I travel the country pulling a 45ft 20k toy hauler fifth wheel so my driving is mainly highway with a few campgrounds that are all gravel but most paved. Jk recommended 265/60/R20 tires to stay as close to stock height as possible as my camper already runs at 13 ft 6 in with hitch amd king pin at lowest locations. JK recommended a few but all were AT tires. I fell if I did AT the Coopers would be best.
Any thoughts on what tires you all would use for this?
