Tool question

Some time ago I bought an adapter to use on my angle grinder to make it an orbital sander, like a DA to use for body work. A while back after many years of use it fell apart and I have been able to find another like it. The store I I bought it from doesn't have them and it's useless to ask anyone working there about ordering a new one. I've been searching the net and haven't been able to find anything like it. I did find one but it was in England, I think, and it was hundreds of dollars and I know I didn't pay that much for it, maybe $50, at most.

Anybody have something like this?

Wow an adapter to make a direct drive into a da or random orbital? How’s that possible?
What brand is it?

They used to be made by/for Milwaukee, but now you can only get them from the junk dealers.

Lematec LE-ADP01

This is one, but I don’t see it available at any retailer.

I think that the grinders may be a different rpm than the sanders.

Thanks, this is one, but I don’t see it available at any retailer.
This is exactly the tool I'm looking for. It worked great, for smaller jobs I didn't have to drag out an air hose. I could grind metal and sand all with one tool. I think I had it for at least ten years before the pad fell apart. I removed the pad, which is just a normal DA pad and lost the counter balance for it.

I'll have to do a search for one. One hardware store here is a big dealer of Milwaukee tools, maybe they can find it for me. My son's fiancé works there so maybe she can talk to someone at Milwaukee Tool.

Currently unavailable but Amazon had them..... Think I'd check with Milwaukee direct.

Amazon Amazon

Everything I'm seeing says "Obsolete - no replacement"

I called Milwaukee Tool this morning to see if maybe they had a few on a shelf somewhere, they didn't.

The prices I've seen posted for this are a lot more than I know I paid for mine. Too bad no one has them in stock

I initiated an item watch on eBay, just might get lucky

I feel a little stupid. I thought I lost a piece of this tool but after looking it over this afternoon I realized the corded Milwaukee angle grinder I had used the attachment on must have had a slightly shorter shaft than my new cordless Milwaukee grinder. When I installed the attachment on the cordless grinder the threaded shaft went too far into the gray disc and locked the free spinning "nut" the sandpaper pad screwed into. Put a spacer in between the gray disc and the grinder and it works fine.

This tool is very handy if you don't have a ready source of air to power a conventional air powered DA. It's also handy if you're doing a smaller job and just need to use it for a few minutes. I've used it on wood projects and body work on cars.

It happens to all of us Bob. Sometimes there's just a flare up of the old rectal/cranial inversion

Can you please post a picture of this device so I can imagine how it works?

The threaded hole the pad screws into is off center to give it the dual action motion.

Very cool and simple, thank you.
For some reason I thought it had to have some kind of mechanical complexity to it.

The other similar tools I've found on the net were a lot more complex than this. I'm pretty sure I paid less than $30 for this one about 10-15 years ago. I never had a problem with it until the pad tore off the screw base. At first I thought it was some special part but then saw it was a simple DA pad. After it broke I threw in the grinder box and got busy and forgot about it for a while. I do find it very handy.
