Afternoon Everyone, A bit more snow last night, and was real busy here Today, we have an old friend stopping in for the night soon.

Finally found a gear matching Dana 60. Off a ‘96 too, so everything except steering components fit. I don’t think I’ll do anything with it right now, I’ll put it in the barn for a nice winter project someday. Transfer case with the yoke, steering gear with pitman arm, ubolt plates, track bar with bracket, too. Everything except the driveshaft. Should be here in a few weeks.

Hi John, just looking at your build thread, that worked out well. Though to do I’ll bet, hard on the back, but looks really good.

I started having trouble once it got to about a 45° bend, then came out the weights. My wife couldn't balance herself standing on the pipe...lol

Lol, sounds like a fun time! Thick steel to bend like that, especially in the centre I would think.

Yeah, it was a good find on the axle. Didn’t want to let that one slip through my hands. Only a 95-97 have the same brakes as mine. And same gearing too. Hoping it’s in good shape. The more I think about it, I’m tempted to back up right now… it’s only January.

It actually bent fairly even, just needed a little persuasion in the centre before I removed the pipes..

Hi guys, nice score on the axle Jeff, it is a very satisfying feeling to make a good buy isn't it. Like I told my wife yesterday after getting the Noco battery boost unit ," the Scottish element of my DNA is sporting wood ", she replied, " at least one part of you is " lol. John, I didn't realize until just this evening that the links on your signature are your build threads, I just went all thru 33 pages of the Merc, good Lord, I am in major envy of your dedication and talent to bring this 67 year old fella back to life. With the gold medal JR game on and the Leafs in a few minutes , I will go thru the pick up builds 55 pages tomorrow. I have to say what an inspiration you are to untalented clumsy wanna bee's like me. As much as I love cars/trucks, I could never tackle such a project as you have. My hat is off to you.

Morning guys, another gray wet day but still +3 and no snow. John, my mother's father was born in Scotland and emigrated to Canada as a child. I don't remember him too well at this point, but I still have a Matchbox horse drawn London double decker bus toy that he gave me when I was very young. I'm going for my daily walk shortly and will check out your pick up build later today. Have a good one ...

Evening John, Mike, nothing too exciting here today. Company left this afternoon, and no plans for the weekend.

Temp is dropping this evening, I think it’s going to be cool night.

My wife is half Scott too…. I avoid her temper, lol.

Nothing exciting is pretty good John, I don’t feel like anything exciting happening right now, I’ve had too much excitement over the past few months. I could take a couple months of boredom so I can work away on my own, maybe get something finished up this winter.

Morning guys, we had a couple of CM snow overnight, will be colder next few days so it should likely stay on the ground. Well, we had the misfortune of somebody hitting our Sorento in a parking lot yesterday and took out out both passenger doors and the rocker below the front door. And of course they took off, and no witness has come forward. So, we will be penalized with an at fault damage claim by the insurance company. I am guessing damage will be in the 4-5 k range as two new doors will be required and the rocker replaced etc. Great way to start the new year. Luckily we had collision coverage so we will get a rental car. I will have to deal with all this Monday morning. I hope you guys have a better day...
