Would love to show a pic of my dually pulling something, but unfortunately it’s already in the shop. Only 1,400 miles on it and the rear diff is making big chunks of metal. Shop said it was 2.5 quarts low on oil. My fault for not checking it after I got it, I guess.
Oh well, hope it gets fixed soon. I did enjoy driving it.

I wouldn't drive in deep 2+ ft snow again. It wasn't that I got stuck, the snow packed between the wheels and turned into lethal ice ***** that ejected when I finally got on the highway. I also scratched the hell outta the inner dual wheel and had wicked vibrations. Had to spend 30 mins digging the remaining ice ***** out with a tire iron.

Yeah, 2 feet is a bit much.....I actually had the same thing happen with ice buildup on a Toyota RAV 4 so in the right conditions, you can have issues regardless of the SRW/DRW thing. I daily drove my dually for 20 years including up to our ski chalet every weekend during ski season and lost track of how many vehicles I pulled out of the ditch or up the hill in front of our unit. Certainly there are times where a SRW has an advantage - like real offroad 4x4 stuff or perhaps very deep snow but the often repeated mantra that DRW's suck in the snow simply isn't true IME.

Cheers,
Dave

I never heard they suck in the snow so therefore I never had a single issue driving in the deepest snow.

Maybe if I had read that earlier I would have a different opinion.

Yes, I got the 6.7 HO. I will most definitely share photos! Ordered it from Granger, so my guess is I’ll be picking it up early March.

Cant wait to see pictures and hear the feed back of the H.O.

I go back and forth on replacing my dually or retiring my GMC and going with a gas 7.3 truck as a daily.

Merry Christmas to All!!!

Your truck looks awesome. What wheel/tire combo is that?

Thanks, I'm pretty happy with the look of it myself. Here is a thread I started with more information, but they are 20" DDC polished, custom powdercoated satin black, with 295/60-20 Cooper Discoverer STT Pro tires.
