My 99 7.3 Zf6 4x4

Got rear axle out. Front spring hangers cut off. Front leaf spring bolts on 08 springs is 20mm vs 18mm on old ones so had to open spring bolt hole in the hanger up a little bit with die grinder. Got 08 axle on jack stands to do brakes and all before I put it on so it's a little easier to get to all of it.
Spring habflr with bolt hole opened up.
99-07 spring on top 08 on bottom.

Got the new brakes and calipers put on the 08 rear axle. Just waiting on the new brake line kit and it will be ready to go in. Supposed to be here tomorrow.
Pulled dash out of the 08 parts truck yesterday and stripped it down. Ripped out the harness and untapped all of it to get out the pigtails and what wires I will be reusing out of it which isn't much.
Stripped down the 08 column harness. Pulled out wires I won't be using since my truck is manual trans (shifter interlock wiring and tow/haul/overdrive button and pats transpondet). Had to add in a couple pins to the clock spring pigtail I will need. And had to replace the clock spring plug on the 11 steering wheel with the 08 clock spring steering wheel plug.
Have to move the move the relay box for the upfitter switches when you do a dash swap. Mounted it to dash frame in the radio area so you will still be able to get to them if needed.

Got set of crown performance brake lines today from pmf. There are some super nice lines. All factory style single piece ends and not multiple pieces pieces together. Fit just like factory and have 5 layers. I'm haply with how they fit so far.
Ran by junkyard and picked up a 2011+ full center console. Got a good deal on it compared to what they sell for online and ebay. Now got to cut a big hole in it for a shifter. 😂

Got the rear end bolted back in. Most everything hooked back up to it. Still got to make a mount for the newer e brake setup. Maybe it will work a bit better then ours are now to. 😂
Got a new set of traction bars. Didn't really like the setup with the pro comp set I had and should be able to sell them for what I got in these.

I'll have to go to the first page to see what this is all about.
What traction bars did you end up going with? I went with PMF because i didn't want to drop the coin on the OUO kit. I'll probably do the OUO kit on my 76 F350 CC 7.3 project though.
Also keep an eye on your drilled rotors. I used to run them but noticed stress cracks starting off the holes (and I rarely use brakes and am easy on them when used). I just did brakes on my truck and went with only slotted rotors...just something to think about. Maybe you've always ran them without issue, IDK

Traction bars are from "far from stock". I believe it just ruff stuff kit. They got a free shipping deal going on now and didn't have to pay tax where I'm at. They were $395 to me including the tube. Cheapest I've seen anywhere.
Thanks for the tip on the rotors. I've had a set on my stock axles for 8+ years and never had a single issue with the. Swapped pads once with them and still no issues. I've had good luck with them. If Ixever start having a issue I'll change them up.

Nice...quite the project.
many years ago, I thought about swapping out to the newer springs for a better ride. then I thought about swapping front axles to improve turning radius. Sadly I never went through with it and constantly reminded when I get on a concrete road.
It should all be worth it when you get it completed. Can't beat a set of traction bars for that price, especially with today's over inflated prices. they appear to be of good quality as well. enjoy the build
