i have a mean 86 f150 351 but it is to low any ideas
(it has an independent front axle)

 

well you could go anywere from 2" up to 6" suspension then up to 3" body i have 6" superlift suspension on my 82 f-150 with a still comeing 3"body i recommend superlift or skyjacker i deffinatly donot recommend rancho..too expensive you dont get the advertised lift and if you get a kit with rear blocks they are made of aluminum. not too safe in my mind. her are some sites to check out:
