79 F-100 Instrument Gauge Wiring Diagram

Hi all, I'm still quite new here and learning my way around, a few members (77&79 F250 especially) have been great helping me out, and I greatly appreciate it. I have a question for you. Does anyone have a wiring diagram that tells where these wires go? I've found 1 or 2 (not 79's) and they're not the same...Don't laugh at me, but I'm not good with the really detailed schematics. Wish I was, I'm just not.

We're installing an Interlogix digital dash, I'll do a nice detailed write up on it once we're complete.

On my connector
#1 is black
#7 is pink
#8 is orange
#14 is red /white stripe

Here is the diagrams you're looking for, choose 1979 and pg. 3 shows the instrument cluster and in the ledger at bottom of that page shows the back of instrument cluster for with gauges and without gauges. Click on the diagram to enlarge for better visibility. Post back with any progress or questions.

Ok, so it looks like mine is the one that you posted that has the (1978 FORD) F Models at the header. I'm able to match those colors to what I have in my hand.

Maybe I'm asking the wrong question. Long story short, I need to know which of these are L & R Turn signals. I don't see in that diagram where any of the lines terminate at anything. What am I missing?

Ok, I've verified that mine is "without gauges" (What does that mean?). that's the color combination that matches my connector. Is the top portion of that page supposed to tell me what each one does? I'm struggling to make heads or tails of it.

I'm shocked that nobody has this written down with all of the info that is on this site. "red does this" " green/white stripe does this"

I think I'm asking the wrong questions.

With gauges means you have 4 instrument gauges Alt, temp, oil pressure, fuel,
Without gauges means you have fuel, temp gauges (sweep needles), but oil pressure and Alt are red warning lights.

Ok, I’ve found a thread where you showed the back of the circuit pad… on that pad it shows the circuits, and + is on the bottom of the specific item..

so, I followed from the item, (turn signals) back to the connector.

think that would work?

I think I may have figured it out… followed the circuits around the back of the cluster, got the 5 that I needed

once I connect them and test, I’ll share the info.

Yes sir! That’s the one. I’m not 100% I’ve got it all right, but I’m 95%. I’ve checked and triple checked. I like my chances! Will update tomorrow.
