Good morning hope all is well! Could use some insight!

The other night i get a call at 2 am, seems my horn is going off on my truck!
By the time i scramble to put some clothes on and get out there it was no longer doing it??
Next day driving around , some ****** cuts me off and i have no horn to let him/her know what i think! LOL
I find that #37 horn fuse is blown, so i replace it.
Not only does the horn not start blaring but it sounds sick , like i put a little car horn in my big ole truck! It's embarrassing!
So i am wondering if my GEM is giving up , also had the key fob stop working for a few minutes a couple of times, had to use the key to get in, i cycled the door locks a few times and fob started working again.
having issues with the radio not shutting off when i open the drivers door. all gem related??

Thanks in advance, Hope al is well out there in the FTE world!

Check for worn/broken/shorted wires first. Any water intrusion?

no rain to speak off here in NM had a new windshield put in few months ago, did it in my driveway so i saw every step, good seal!
Key fob and radio have happened since i got the truck, Horn is a new symptom

i suppose its possible while running the CTS3 i managed to force some wiring under the dash to rub, i can pull the radio pretty easily, gem is behind radio correct?

FTN, that stuff looks interesting. Cleans and seals? So do you still use dielectric grease to seal the connectors or no need with this?

It’s probably still a good idea to use dielectric grease on connections that see a lot of weather.

Years ago (1997 ish) the F-150 was known to have a horn go off (sound produced) when the contacts in the steering wheel would make contact without someone pressing on the horn "button". Sometimes this would happen due to a temperature change and the metal shrunk just a smidge and allowed the contacts to make the circuit.

You could remove the airbag fuse and then take the steering wheel airbag cover off and see if the contacts are dirty or too close together for the horn.

Looking at the FSM, looks like there may be a "horn relay" (I didn't realize that) and that may be the cause of your issues. Check the easy and free stuff first!

It shows a high pitched and low pitched horn , seems only one of mine is working I will check out the relay later as I have time

also got in it this morning and the horn is not working again suspect the fuse has blown, I will have to just let it for the time being work takes up all my time these days!

Your 4 way flasher relays are in there. One for the front set of running lights and one for the rear set of running lights. There is a fuel pump relay in there too.

Not saying that is your problem, but that is likely what is chattering.

Well i am narrowing things down a little , when i use my key fob ( sitting in the truck) i hear the same click when i lock the truck
I think i said this before that the fuse is blown again for the horn, i will look to see if i have a critter in there chewing up my wiring!
