F100 crown vic build
#16
and for the rear end I want to use the crown Vic rear and cut off the mounting brackets and use a flip axle kit to bolt it up to the leaf springs. I did some people do 4 link rear and I was really considering that but I think I’ll just stick to flip axle and keep the leafs.

"Hey boss now that summer is here what to do with the plow?" "Aah, just throw it in the back of the truck." Geez. I can think of a lot easier ways to stow plow for summer, but hey, they don't have to mow around it!

[QUOTE=Patina65;20084549][QUOTE=Jamey Eaton;20083315]I’m excited to see this as well. I found a possible donor car for my future build
probably front end swap, but I really like hot rod garage’s crown hic build too. Having power steering & power disc brakes would definitely be a big plus
awesome, I hope that donor car works out for you! what is going to be your plan with a vic?

Update
The front suspension is officially off now. I pick at the car 45 minutes a night. Doesn’t sound like much but one thing off is one thing off and I got to engine hoisted and ready to come out so I left work early tonight to get my self a few extra hours that I needed. Got the motor out and next the front end. I’ve been recording as much as I could.
so is there anything off the crown Vic I will need to help this swap?
It’s offf!

Was expecting a 2-3 week build time on suspension mounts and motor mounts but they just came in 1 week after order date. I went with outcast autoworks. I stripped the front sub frame to clean all the parts, too move around easily and not break my back.
ive been thinking about installing the sub frame on the truck bare and then assembling the rest of the parts after to not deal with all the heavy lifting. But that’s about as much of an update I have so far. My mom is borrowing my truck until her car gets out of the shop so I won’t start taking the truck apart just yet, so until then I’ll be cleaning up dirty parts and making room in the garage.
one last thing, have any of you installed the crown Vic suspension in pieces? Or have you all just put it on in one complete assembly?

Update as of today!
The Vic has been in the garage for too long so I had a lot of extra time to clean up all the dirty Vic suspension. So that has came out looking pretty good. Little purple power, some scrubbing and a pressure washer.
the lca’s did get sand blasted.
vic finally made it out of the garage and the truck bed was first taken off Friday night and then this Tuesday morning I had some time before work started unbolting everything that hold the front end together… so I thought…. Couldn’t figure out how to in bolt the fenders, finally found the last two bolts and the front end came loose. So being determined as I am, I had 30-45 minutes before I had to get my lunch ready and go. I threw up some tow straps on the beams in my garage lifted the front end off in one clip and off she went! Pushed the truck outside, covered the engine and off to work I went.
tonight I’ll be cleaning up the garage, clearing up space and hopefully bringing the truck inside tonight.

Aren’t they!? I was going to do that box kit one but I found the outcast mounts and I had to get it. They look awesome, the quality is amazing. On the way I have the bolt on lower control arm mounts they make and when those come in the powder coat goes on.
