I like this over the stocker one. Nice work.

That things cool. Where’d you get that bumper? I know LMC sells them but I hear they have cheap parts.
Edit: didn’t mean to put question mark by “that things cool”

Almost ready for paint!

Been slowly working thru various driveability issues and now am getting ready for paint. Truck is rust free, so only needed to fix some dings and dents. The old clearcoat had failed on the upper surfaces. Getting excited to get this step done!

Working on 7.3 IDI heads. Valve guides are wayyyy too tight; some tighter than .001" and galled the valves. Will ream them out this weekend.

Also need to check the taper on the 7.3 IDI block. It's standard bore; would like it to stay that way.

Finally found a steering wheel cover that I like and goes with the interior.

Picked up my truck from a local mechanic yesterday after having the flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, pilot bearing, rear main seal, clutch slave cylinder and line, front u joint at the front drive shaft and the transfer case to transmission gasket replaced. I plan to install a shifter rebuild kit. The mechanic stopped where he did because the bill was getting pretty big. The truck is in a forward gear, with the shifter removed. A pin is missing from the lower shifter housing. I couldn't to the transmission work because I don't have a garage or paved area to work on.

What transmission and what pin do you need? If it's a ZF-5 I may be able to help.

EDIT: here's the video I shot of my ZF-5 disassembly. If your trans is a ZF-5 this may help with reassembly and identifying the missing part.

Thanks for the response. Mine is a M5ODR2. The pin is in the picture, with the green arrow. That's an online screen shot, not my transmission. It looks like Allstate Gear sells the parts needed to rebuild the shifter. Also, the truck is on a hill, with cinder blocks blocking the wheels. I've never used the emergency brake. I put the truck in low range and unlocked the front hubs to drive it home. It's in "a forward gear." I think it's 5th. I'm hoping to rock it slightly forward with my tractor, re chock the wheels, push in the clutch and use a screw driver to put it in neutral. Right now, in gear and in 4 low, I can't get the forks to slide using a screw driver. There's no flat land to park it on.

Vacuum Lines

Took about 30 minutes. Would've been 15-20 but I broke the pink line before I figured out where it went. FYI it's on the passenger side on the bottom of the disc connected to 3 air lines for the emissions system

If the truck is blocked so it CAN NOT MOVE, Putting the transfer case is neutral, Should allow the transmission to move freely.

I stopped the truck, then shut it off, so it's resting on the transmission. I chocked the wheels as a precaution. When I stopped, before the wheel chocks were in place, I couldn't get the transfer case to neutral or the transmission to neutral. The blocks are behind the wheels. The truck is facing up hill. On level ground at the shop where the repairs were done, I could shift the transfer case into neutral.
