So the truck was almost ready for pickup today until they test drove it, and the new Yukon gears are so loud they told me not to come get it, they are trying to figure out why.
They have reset the gears twice now without any change, they suspect perhaps the gears are defective or something, they are getting in some Nitro gears to see if that fixes the problem.
One thing i thought was interesting, they said they called Yukon for advice on what might cause this, and apparently the rep told them straight up that a lot of their 4.30 gears have been coming back lately for the same problem.
Maybe their tooling is out of whack or something, hopefully the nitro's fix the problem. Can't wait to take a look at that 5 inch aluminum driveshaft, they did end up going with 5 inch after all after confirming it would clear everything well.

yall wonder why i build my truck the way i do, well, here is a hint, i want to get there yesterday, get the job done, and get back today, even if part of the trip is rough road, off-road, no road, etc..
If you do the math, it comes out to 72.5 MPH average speed, except, i had gas stops, and restroom stops, so you do the math from there, i am a road warrior!

Got the word this morning that Dauntless is all done, and that the roaring gears problem was definitely the Yukon gears, They got the Nitro set put in and they said its quieter than a mouse now which is awesome.
I was supposed to pick it up today but a job came up, and I ended up having to roll the Expedition again for 205 miles today, and work took me late enough there was no hope of getting to the shop in time to pick it up.
Hopefully I can get it picked up Friday, I am anxious to drive it with the new gears, aluminum driveshaft, and true track.

Your final readings seem to be in post 186. I've not seen anyone change from the stock TB to the SCT and post results? As I picked up an F350 with the 6.7 PowerStroke, I'm not going to do any more with the EX and put it up for sale. I'm gonna miss my Ex, but that 2015 truck is nice and will out pull that V10 any day.

Well, glad you got what makes you happy, I don't think i would trade my Excursion unless i was replacing it with a CABT with a 6.7L
That said, I would not donor my Excursion to make one out of it, I would probably hand it down in the family, or else to a trusted friend, but thats still "some day", with the exception of the paint on one quarter panel, its in really good condition inside and out, with a new motor, fully redone suspension and both axles, and no rust at all.

On the other hand, sometimes I struggle to justify keeping my Ex. It's weak compared to a diesel, especially one with mods. It lacks some of the creature comforts and the fit/finish of more modern vehicles. Mine has numerous little issues that still need tending to, and I'm finding myself shorter and shorter on time as I venture deeper into owning a small business. I could easily sell my Ex, 250, and 350, and get a newer well-equipped diesel with cash. Then I remember how, at least for me, it marked the end of an awful chapter in my life. And it's so dang unique. It starts up conversations everywhere I go, and I get thumbs up as I drive down the road. I'm doing my best to keep the Ex relevant by giving it the push towards an overlanding truck. I'd sure love to have a CABT, but I'll be single again if I go spend $100,000 on an SUV.
Also, @01__Excursion sank his last week, so I'll keep enjoying my gasser
