2002 Excursion OEM trailer wiring

Hi All,

I need to add a trailer plug to my EX, but I am having a hard time verifying where the OEM trailer harness is. I have found this un-connected plug behind the license plate, but the wire gauge seems WAY too small for the brake and charging circuits. Can anyone help me verify if this is the correct plug, or where I can find the correct plug? The strangest part, is that the previous owner (deceased, so I can't ask) installed a Tekonsha controller, but there is no trailer plug that I can find!

Found the part yet?

I need this replacement plug too. Any luck yet?

I actually have mine, but there is a short somewhere between the plug you're showing and where the trailer plugs in.

I just changed my rear bumper and that plug looks like the connection for the backup sensors - behind the license plate facing right.
The fairly large harness for the 7-way trailer plug goes up into the left frame rail near the left rear bolt of the fuel tank cover.

I still need the pigtail, or whatever you call it.

This should be compatible, but the wire looks a little short.
