I have a Leer on my 21. Absolutely love it. Keeps all my stuff out of the Wisconsin weather. I almost never haul stuff that doesn’t fit and if I do, that’s what the trailer is for anyway. If you don’t haul large objects frequently or tow 5th wheel/gooseneck, there really aren’t many downsides to having one. The added weight also smooths out the ride when empty if that’s important to you.
Can you share which Leer topper and options you ordered?
I have a dog, and I don't want my bald head to be poked by fiberglass.

We boondock camp often with our 34' trailer and wouldn't dare be without our cap. The amount of stuff we pack in there stays secure and dry. Ice chests, generator, folding tables, chairs, Blackstone griddle, toolbox, etcetera, etcetera. We also have a Bedrug to keep things from sliding around. The cap is an ARE Z Series. The fit is great and the color match is perfect.

My wife has used this 9" paint roller on a 5' pole for 20 some years. She found it in the garage and I never got it back. It's length is perfect as it is always within reach when laying in the bed. The roller makes a nice hook for grabbing on the red bins and it will pull a surprising amount of weight. Simple and cheap.

I had a Snugtop on my Raptor and I'll say that, in my opinion, you either need to have windoors OR have a bed slide IF you're not willing to regularly take the thing off and on. I'm personally waiting for RSI to release their cap for short bed super duty trucks and I'll get one of those this time around.

@adllewis42 So, been looking at the RSI's for a while. No distributor up here in Alaska, so they say. Your previous experience with RSI has been good I take it? Any additional comments? Thanks

Have had Leer, SnugTop and a couple others over the years. None really noteworthy, all had some sort of issue that should have been sorted out by now after decades of supposed 'development'. My Reading & Knapheide commercial utility bed bodies have been more impressive to me despite some design flaws in them also. Really like the idea of SS versus fiberglass so the RSI peaks my interest.
