I know everyone is tired of hearing about '66 Exterior Chrome. Everybody seems to be out on reproductions. I found some off of a '65 f100. It has red down the middle. Was that standard?
I have seen guys use red tape on their trim. I don’t believe it came that way, but I’m sure someone will chime in with more knowledge than me. I have been considering the red on mine
63 and 64 used trim with red paint in the middle but it was a slightly different shape of trim - not as wide in the door and bed area as the 65 and 66 trim and more pieces on the hood to work around the hood emblem if I recall. The red on the 65 and 66 trim does look good like in that last picture. Not sure why they didn't make them that way but while it wasn't the stock look it is not too tough to add. I like the red, white and blue effect on that truck. Red wheels look very sharp. A few 1965 Rangers are said to have had wheels painted red. Not sure that's correct but I suspect it was and its a good look too.
