I am looking at ordering a 21 F350 King Ranch but I am concerned about the leather color. Some pictures show the Java interior looks “almond” or lighter than say a football. Other pics the leather looks orange like a basketball. I don’t want orange seats. Has anyone seen the 2021 KR Java interior in person? Can you offer info and/or pics? Ford needs to up their game on Lariat interior color choices.

 

We were also concerned 3 years ago when Ford shifted from the Java brown to the KR orange when it was time to order ours. We found a Ford dealer with a F150 KR in stock, so we drove the 200 miles to Wa wine country to check it out. The interior is not as bright orange as we thought. We ended up liking it, and ordered our F250 KR. Three years later, we have grown quite fond of this interior. The leather quality is top notch, too. You'll probably also grow to like having this unique color.

 

Ford website list the 2021 KR color as “Java” not KR Orange. In my mind Java is coffee colored... maybe with some cream. I’m confused.

 

Looked orange to me, had to pass and go for a platinum this time. Much preferred the 2017 color. Good luck either way, the seats are very comfortable. I ended up with the black platinum seats but if I was to order again I would have gone Marsala after seeing it in person....gives a nice contrast. Others think it looks too red :-) to each their own at this price point.

Agree this was a far superior color combo and it looks like the 2021 Expedition went back to something similar. Not personally a fan of the orange color they went to as the primary color.

 

Java is the brown interior, carpets, and trim. Primary seating surface is the KR orange. FYI, Weathertech has protective floor mats in the Java (brown) color, perfect match. Yes, 2021 Expedition KR went back to the 2017 color combo.

 

I have a 2019 and was really worried that the Sears would look orange like the pics online. However, in person, they aren’t orange at all and look more...like a deep/rich tan. Coffee with a touch of creamer, maybe. Hard to describe, but we really love them now and the leather quality and comfort is great. I went from being skeptical/apprehensive when I ordered to really happy.

 

The marsala in the platinum is the same way in online photos. Looks orangey.


Doesnt look that way in real life (looks more like Redwing boots).

I have a ‘21 F250 KR and I LOVE the color on the seats. It does grow on you, but it’s not an orange color. Hard to explain, but it’s a quality leather and looks sharp.

 

Thanks for all your input and pics. I tried to see a KR at the dealer today but it was sold. I really like the dark Marsala color too (probably my favorite) but don’t want to spend even more money on a Platinum. Sat in the Platinum today and the seats were tremendously comfortable.

 

Yup...I prefer over the older darker color... its all a matter of preference...
