If you are purchasing/using a completely different harness, you may want to verify the wires and pins are in the same locations between the 2000 and the 2002. If needed, we can pull up a wiring diagram/pin out for the different years.
That would help because I am only with my truck and the plan is to overnight the 2000 harness then overnight my harness to the 2000. If hate to have a surprise when turning my truck on after install to then possibly have to return the harness.
This is the pinout for the 2000. For reference, the 42 pin connector is C138.
I have also attached a pinout in Excel format for a 2002.
This is the pinout for the 2002. For reference, the 42 pin connector is C110.
When searching for the a replacement 42 pin connector, it is listed as used for 1994 - 2003, so the form factor is the same at the very least. Truth be told, I had to call upon FordTruckNoob to help me identify the connector number. I was trying to find C110 in the 2000 section, but it is C138 in the 2000. I am still learning and am not afraid to ask for help or directions, which is a good thing in my opinion.
Comparing the two connectors based solely on the diagrams, there does appear to be some differences in the pinouts. Without looking at each individual circuit, for the 2000 (2002 is included in the Excel document), I cannot be certain if they are critical or not. For example, pin 1 on the 2000 is LG/RD and pin 1 on the 2002 is blank.
In my opinion, even though the form factor of the 42 pin appears to be the same, the pinout does NOT appear to be the same and caution should be used if sending the connector with wiring. If only the connector is going, then everything should be fine as long as there is no damage to the connector when pins are removed or inserted.
Unfortunately my fathers 7.3 was totaled and his harness is in excellent condition compared to mine which is pretty rough. Just spoke with him he is going to try and save the truck if possible but he’s concerned the frame may be bent. Clay at riff raff said he could help with the Vin number. Hoping to have that tomorrow. Thanks for the help and replies! Worst case I’ll drive up there change a bunch of parts over to my rig including the riff raff fuel cross over although hopefully it can be repaired.

I trust that your father made it out OK.
Clay at Riffraff goes above and beyond each and every day and that is why we recommend his services so much. We are lucky to have him and others like Bitterroot and Diesel-O-Rings on the FTE.
Please don't hesitate to let us know if we can help out in anyway.
Yes thankfully my brothers wife made it out ok when another car came into her lane. Regardless my blood is still boiling but I stay quiet. Primarily because somebody could have been injured and my father recently acquired his rig. I saw it as a great opportunity to give back as his personal 7.3 mechanic for a long time ahead!!!! I had already completed several projects to bring the truck up to speed for him. A highly talented local body guy and mechanic up there will be heading over soon hoping they bring some good news and maybe I’ll even be able to help out on that project as well. Really nice guy when I need to he lets me work on my truck in his shop even letting me use his tools and Always ready to teach me the next mechanics trick!
