I’d want the weatherstripping stuck to the camper AND wide enough to completely cover it so it didn’t rub my trucks bed at all.

im sure the sticky foam would be a real pita getting all of it off your truck bed.

I’ll be removing the shell after I return from AlaskA & don’t want ANY signs it had a camper shell on it.

On both caps that I've had the fore-and-aft weatherstripping had a figure eight cross section and has been very effective. The lateral weatherstripping along the front of the bed has been a foam strip that had it's own adhesive. Also satisfactory.

I have had an ARE shell on my Chevy Silverado (I know, I know...I am being reformed) for 9+ years and it has worked well. The hydraulic lifts need on the back window need to be replaced, but other than that it has worked great. No leaking at all. The paint matches perfectly and aesthetically, I felt that the ARE shells looked better than the others out there.

Holy crap! Maybe I should have driven mine in some rain before I put the bedrug in there. My luck, I will be traveling with stuff in the back when I do hit rain. I guess only time will tell with fingers crossed.

I have the bed rug as well. Not sure it leaks like that. All I noticed were a couple spots near the tailgate. That was solved by buying some 'D' foam weatherstripping on amazon (5/8") and adding to the current tailgate seal.

I guess we will see with mine. I don't thing the place I got the topper put a sealant down. Ugh. I have the spray in bedliner underneath the bed rug as well. I sealed the seams before they sprayed and glad I left the front drain holes open just in case.

One thing I did notice, is that in a heavy rain you still get some water coming in near where the door meets the top of the tailgate on the side. Not a lot, but enough to make the very back of the bed wet.
Nice looking truck and cap. Mine does not leak. But I definitely was in the *** of the installer and made them do it twice.

so far I have none. They put a really big seal in. Enough to lift the cap 1/4" above the body panel. Water leakage is directly related to the seal.

Chief1232 I have Leer cap on my 2012 that was added in 2013 and not a drop of water comes in to the bed even in the worst of storms. Not even from the rear door area. The reason for a cap is to keep the rear completely dry and out of the weather. Take it back and have the correct the seal that was used.
