High hump floor pan

I have to cut out the low hump in my cab. Did ford just leave the floor ruff cut ? Did ford roll the edge to make a smooth edge ?

There is a rolled edge, but you'll have to cut about an inch inside it to mount the manual cover. You'll have a sharp cut metal edge. It is easy to see where to cut. The indented areas for body clips to anchor the new manual hump to are waiting to be drilled.

Thanx. I didn't want to cut it to big and then find out it need to be rolled. Ruff edge is the factory edge. Thanx.

You also need to tailor the cut to where it's a good-to-perfect fit for the nut-clips.

On my cab, a previous owner cut open that area because they were going to use the cab on a 4WD. The cab came with a 4 speed 4WD cover. But when I went to install the cover from my old cab, some of the nut-clips wouldn't reach the bolt hole location...

I'm 99% certain that my old cab wasn't original to the truck either, and it had the floor cut, but the bolts for the cover all went right in. It looked like it might've been a factory cut, unlike my cab now, which is jagged and not right - but at least they didn't go too large.

Also, my truck is a three-on-the-tree, and I believe should have a flat un-cut floor. But the first cab had a cover with no shifter holes. Underneath, it looks like it might've been patched where the transmission hole would be, but the top is smooth and doesn't appear to be patched.

And not to hijack or anything, but do 1980-and-up trucks use a smaller bolt head for their covers? I'm pretty sure that their cover uses fewer bolts, but the heads are smaller than what was on my truck - and I'm missing a few. I picked up enough OBS bolts and nut-clips to do mine, and then discovered that I need to cut it more for some of the nut-clips...
