For the longest time, I couldn't get any order status to show up, but thanks to this thread, I realized I had a typo in my VIN (originally thought it was 38N instead of 3BN)

...dealer is about 175 mi. away, so I’ll go pick it up on Saturday.
I'm still in the" in progress" holding pattern. (my order date was also 10/28 ) it is obvious that my dealer had no allocation left when he took my order. it took nearly a month to get the VIN...so im thinking that i am looking at a 1/4/21 or 1/11/21 build week... hopefully i'm wrong, but at this point I have very little faith of seeing this truck anytime soon.
It took a couple of weeks from the order date for my salesman to give me my VIN. Yet another thing about the process that is not clear, is how long Ford actually takes to generate the VIN. Based on reporting here, it takes anywhere from almost immediately, to weeks, and in some cases, even months. There must be a clear process that explains how/when all the dates are reported, and how the dealers receive the information, but neither Ford nor the dealers are choosing to enlighten us. This is not necessary, there could, and should, be greater transparency, as so many of us have said.

Im also wondering if The vin # is related to build date. my sequential number at the end is 67xxx . H2O camper 's truck is in production and his vin sequential number is 5xxxxx .

Just a side note... My dealer has just gotten in a stock 2021 King Ranch F450 that is close to my build (wrong color) and at the time of my order i specifically asked if they had "any King Ranch F 450's" coming in ( i was told "no") they could have just changed the order color and with two option changes (they are allowed 6, as long as model & trim remain the same) i would had my truck already. Granted it may have been too close to the build date to make any changes but why couldn't they at least try..... But, of course that would require effort. ...
Every day I get just that more annoyed....

The last 5 of my vin is 5xxxxx, and as I posted earlier, it is in production.

Most staff at dealerships don’t want to be bothered with researching stuff for customers. Yes very annoying. Should you ask a question you get last years standard answer.
Window sticker updated on 12 /10 which is when I believe it actually loaded.
Original estimate says 12/20 to dealer but showed 13 days which would have been 12 / 16 tomorrow.
