2020 F250 Plat in Australia, Lighting

Hey all, just joined to see if anyone could shed some light on an issue im facing.
Just bought a new 2020 F250 in Australia (imported from Canada).
It has the LED headlights.
Im adding a few sets of extra high powered lights but havnt been able to find the High Beam signal wire, im guessing its a can bus sort of deal.

No one in Aus has ever worked on these before so im a bit of out of luck so far.

Is there something im missing like a signal output for high beams somewhere or a adapter i need to get?

The only "change of state" wire i can find is the fog lights that turn off automatically when high beam is activated and have rigged a negative relay to it so when the fogs go off the extra lights come on but its not great and has caused an open circuit on the driver low beam.

Please tell me im missing something easy or there is an adapter!!

Thanks

I used a test light to locate the high beam wire in the harness (at the drivers side headlight) and just used that to power the relay for my lights. Took that wire into the cab to spdt switch so I could turn on the light via high beams or by itself and the then output of the switch to the relay. Been hooked up this way for 3 years with no issues.

I had read there was a signal wire under the dash coming from the bcm (I think) but was unable to locate it.

Why not add the HP lights to the up fitter switches?

I tested every wire to the front right (drivers) light but couldn’t find a change of state between high and low. Would the two lights have different wires? As the left would be the drivers side seeing it was originally left hand drive? I just thought both sides would be the same.
once I find the signal wire I will use the upfitters.

Hi, I have a 2017 US version with the LED lights - so if it is the same as the 2020 - the Left Head Light Connections (C1284) has 16 pins - pins 8-16 not used and has the following:
# - Description - Wire # & Color - Guage
1 - Turn Lamp (Left) - CLS21 (BU-GN) - 20
2 - Lamp - Turn Left of Signal Out - CLS56 (YE-GN) - 22
3 - Park Light - CLS05 (BU-BN) - 22
4 - Daytime Running Lights (DRL) - CLF61 (GY-BU) - 22
5 - Low Beam (Left) - CLF04 (BN-GN) - 18
6 - High Beam (Left) - CLF102 (GY-BN) - 18
7 - Ground - GD129 (BK-YE) - 20

So it looks like you want pin 7 wire # CLF102 which is Gray Brown

Hope this helps. Rich / N1NCZ

Don’t use the signal wire for high beams, run direct From your upfitter switches. If there are any issues with the headlights, you won’t have the extra lighting working. This way if off-road or in a pickle, you still have lighting. The upfitter are relayed and fused, no need to add complications. Also, get Forscan, among other things Bambi mode allows low beams to remain on with the driving lights when on high beam. I have found I don’t even need auxiliary lighting. Your opinion may vary.

This works for off-road use definitely but for on road use i cant have them fully independent of the high beam.
i live 100km away from work and travel in at 5am and back out home at 7pm-12 midnight, i pass a car 2-3 times a night at least on a winding road so having to fumble for a upfitter switch every-time i see a car with only 1-2 seconds notice on the winding road id **** alot of locals off.

Hi John, I just accessed the connector by taking out the drivers side battery and accessing the connector that way so you don’t have to take the light out to do it, faster and easier IMHO - Rich / N1NCZ
