Anyone have the Ford 5th wheel hitch?

There is a 5th wheel hitch kit (not the prep package, but the hitch itself) offered by Ford on the ford.com build your own truck page.

Anybody have one? Who makes it? What's the rating? Pictures? And is it worth $1095?

I'm sure picking up the new truck with the hitch already installed would save some degree of hassle. Just wondering what the opinion of the group was.

I have the hitch. 18K rated. Got it with the truck new in 2013 as part of the purchase.

Reese makes them for Ford. The newer ones are slightly different in style though. Attached are pics of mine at any rate

I don't have the Ford hitch, I went with an aftermarket slider. But to answer your question of:

Using the hitch Senix posted as a reference, the same hitch would only be $800 through etrailer: https://www.etrailer.com/Fifth-Wheel...leID=202027135

Generally, that's held true for most of the Ford dealer accessories that I've looked at, that it's cheaper aftermarket than Ford branded ones. My tonneau cover was significantly cheaper than the Ford option.

Not much hassle if the hitch you buy is for the Ford puck system. Our PullRite OE Super Fifth 18K dropped right into the pucks - easy-peasy.
