It's a roller!
We busted our backsides today and got the carport cleaned out and the steering gear, shocks and brakes on the front. Then we put on the wheels and rolled it into the carport.
I am very happy with all that got done this weekend.
I had to post a goofy photo. Start it up!
Next up is the final fitting of the seat and then painting the base.
The gas tank and sending unit got delayed until Thursday so will work on it next weekend after we take the bed off and paint the frame and rebuild the back brakes.

Well, scratch that, the tank and sending unit, along with Moroso plug wires, are all out for delivery today.
Also, the pile of parts in the living room is dwindling. This makes my wife very happy.
I gotta take a sec and let you know that the best asset to a build is a willing partner. I have been married before and was fought tooth and nail the entire time about money, noise, dirt and spending time on vehicles. My wife actually encourages me and is my cheerleader on this build.

BTW, we decided to take the bed off and clean/paint the frame and rear end and install the shocks, fuel lines, tank and rebuild the brakes before we pick up the block and heads.
The thought process is I want to start the engine off the gas tank instead of something rigged up anyway and it will push me to keep doing things properly instead of getting it running and joy riding.
I am hoping to do that this weekend.

Thanks!
Had an unforeseen difficulty and now, the truck account is depleted. Things will slow way down after this coming weekend.
We are pulling the bed and starting on the back half of the frame, rear brakes, suspension and fuel system install because I have pretty much everything but the filler hose and undercoating and a few bolts. All cheap stuff.
The one year timeline is in peril, but, family comes first.

OK so the bed is off!
We only had to cut one bolt out of 8. They all need to be replaced though.
I have most of the frame wire wheeled and all the unnecessary (to my build) brackets and such removed. The shocks are off and the leaf spring bolts are soaking in PB blaster so I can remove the rearend and leaves as one assembly tomorrow.
I will finish prepping the frame tomorrow and, if it's not too cold, start the low gloss paint like the front of the frame.
I have to order upper straps, filler hoses and go to the salvage yard for the metal filler neck this week.
Next weekend we install the tank and plumbing, reinstall the rearend/leaf assembly and new shocks.
Then, we install the entire new drum brake setup in the back.
I will post pics of today's progress in a little bit.
We are debating lifting the cab before we paint the frame so we can paint it all at once. Problem is I don't have anything to set it on and don't want to put it on the ground.

Thanks! Yeah it will.
I am going today to buy a shop press today. I have to press on the new bearings and, between me and the boys, it looks like it'll be put to good use.
I just need to figure out which bearings to buy. O'reilly says there are 6 different kinds for a 9". Jeff's Bronco says two and Autozone says 3. Lovely.

Frame is looking clean... Nice work!
It is cold over here in the edge of Mississippi this morning.
Since I am doing all my work out in my driveway, the progress has come to a halt..... LOL.
We had a sprinkle of snow and ice this morning so the yay-hoos are running around like children LOL.
Good luck finding a warm day for paint.

Yep, paint is gonna have to wait unfortunately. No warm days in sight.
Gonna pick up the block and heads tomorrow or Thursday.
I still need to go get the shop press from Harbor Freight.
