1972 f250 4x4 build

I tried to post a video of water leaking through my #4 intake valve yesterday but havent figured it out yet. I disconnected my steering shaft and centered up my steering gear box. Straightened my wheels out and hooked my pitman arm back up. Then put shaft back in and gave some power to wires on the epas and the steering wheel just started turn while the truck sat. I think with my limited electrical ability, I will just use the control module that came with the motor. I need to find a small 12 pin plug that goes to the toyo prius control module for my ignition power. I could not find one at the JY today but did find some other things. Some jack wagon stole my antennae a month ago or so off my 06 ford f350. There was one truck there today with one, $1.22. My kind of pricing there. Found a cool looking micro switch off a volvo that should work for some engine compartment lighting, maybe. If it wasnt for the antennae, I would say very unproductive.

Ive had an internal vacuum issue in my 390 and didnt know it til a few years ago. This was the engine in my 70 f250. I pulled it a year and a half ago and now its in the 72 4x4. Anyway, I pulled the intake and heads last week. A couple days ago, I filled the combustion chambers with water with the heads on the garage floor to see if they were leaking before cleaning. The #4 cylinder was letting water through the intake valve. All of my intake valves were stuck when the truck sat for about 22 years. Im in the process of taking the heads apart and cleaning. I am going to lap all the valves and put them back together and recheck. If that stops the leak on the #4, I will call it a day and run them. If not, I will figure it out. That engine doesnt even have 6000 miles on it, it just sat forever before getting ran.

I ordered a radiator within the last week that showed up today with damage. That sucks. It was a spectra radiator CU456. A member with a 1971 f700(Noel133) had found it and said went right in with a little work on the mounts. If the mounting holes had another 3/8" on them for width, it would have bolted right in. Its a 3 row, 24x26 core. As far as the damage, it looks like the side mount got hit and bent up some fins on the out edge. Have to call them tomorrow now.

Good to hear you are making progress !
Stuck Valves: the curse of engines sitting for extended periods.
or
Engines which have been sitting, and run on old gas.
I have actually stuck valves while driving while burning up old gas. _ _ _ a real Migraine.
I am currently dealing with an unkown FE engine which had sat since 2007 and possibly run on old gas then.
First thing I learned was before firing up the engine, I should have removed the valve covers and thumped all the valves to check for one being stuck.
Yes, bro, one was STUCK. Wouldn't you know it, so of course, there was one bent push-rod for starters.
To free the stuck intake valve, I had to rap the valve with brass drift and a 3-lb mallot about 4-good whacks.
Got a Motorcraft 2100 gasket kit in stock at O'Reilly's Auto for new accel pump diaphragm and power valve.
The old ones were petrified. I actually fired up the engine late evening and she sure sounds Ready.
Those lapped valves will make a Difference in smooth running. Keep us posted.
And have fun on your refurb.
