Field Service Action 20N04 Steering

Just saw this in my Ford Pass, steering linkage damper extended coverage. Anyone know what this means? Is it a recall on the damper?

Oh crap, sorry guys!

MODERATOR'S NOTE: No worries! You were not the only one. Several similar threads were begun today, and several more will be started in the coming days, as folks check their apps and become aware of this FSA. There are many north and south poles in this world around which each individual revolves... but on this narrow and specific topic, we'll bring them all together here in this thread.

I put a Fox unit on my 19 at 8000 miles, just to be proactive and not have to worry about it.
I run 40 psi in the single stabilizer and 60 in all tires. Works perfectly. They can keep their warranty
X2, but mine is Bilstein. 4th superduty. Last 2 I replaced the junk within 500 miles. Slow learner. No comparison.

Nice, I might see if my dealer will swap it out even though I haven't had any DW.

Is that on a dual stabilizer setup?

no, my Bilsteins have been single piston stabilizers, and did the same with Bilstein 4600 shocks. No worn front end parts yet. The oem tires on this dually lasted 84,500 miles; the last one 65,000. The difference this time is that I rotated front tires to include the steel rim spare. Heck yes I put the same tires back on, with one note - the BF Goodrich tires still available in 2 forms - one of which is specially designed for Ford.

I didn't get a message for my 20. I've had it for 4 months now and not a hint of bump steer. My previous 17 F350 had it from the beginning but a Fox ss cured it. Does anyone know what is different with the 20's?

What part# Bilstien are you using as a stabilizer? I have not seen one for 17-19 Super Duty.

I didn't think I had a message either until I looked under recalls in FordPass. There it was.

Im thinking the 20's may already have the newest stabilizer. Not sure though. Someone with a 20 would have to post a part#.

I've had mine replaced twice in my 2018 in November and January.

I replaced mine with a single fox at a 17,000 miles on my 2019, it had 1/2 of play in and out. My wife's truck is an 18' with 40K that runs a good bit of broken roads, dirt roads and pot holes and hers had no play when i replaced hers with a single Fox.

I don't think he has a 17-19. His signature says 15 Dually. Bilstein was going to have one available this month(May) but told me it has been delayed til end of summer because of China bug.

*** I texted my former "Service Writer" yesterday (who is also a very good friend) and is now the Assistant Service Manager for my Dealership. He looked it up and told me it's just a notification that they are indeed "Extending the Coverage Period" on these units ONLY! No actual Recall! Typical... he even said it's typical of Ford to send these things out without thinking about the wording and then letting their Dealerships handle the flood of phone calls that they generate! He didn't give me any further details because my truck isn't even a year old yet and is still on regular Factory Warranty for a LONG time! ***

If someone replaces a suspension part proactively, while the truck is still under warranty, and you get the death wobble anyway (while still under Ford warranty), can and will they deny your warranty because you've modified the suspension? With only about 2K miles on my 2019 and no real problems to date (except acted a bit squirrely once or twice when I hit a bump on the highway while going around a curve), I'm torn between waiting to see if I have problems while under warranty and letting Ford try to fix it on their dime, or throw parts at it now when I have no problems and voiding the warranty.
