She did tell me they are not even allowing dads into the Family Birth Center for the birth of their child. She did laugh when I asked her if the were letting the expectant mothers in.

Belated April Fools Day!
It came kind of close. Some over zealous wanna be Marine D.I., what ever she was behind her mask (in street clothes and not in scrubs or hospital uniform)with a hand written stick on name tag got told to 'back off' when she was giving us grief over getting the Warden checked in. An administrative supervisor came out and essentially told her to stand down. Decided that having someone from my old alma matter come out and haul me off wouldn't do much good. Someone down at Station 8 or Station 9 might recognize a picture of my younger self hanging on the wall.

Good morning. Looks like another two months of home schooling ahead. The hospital here in Corvallis is the same. My wife has to check in with security at the entrance doors and they aren’t allowing visitors unless someone is about to die.

Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 43.3, clear and sunny.
I'm kind of thinking that some of these Hospital protocols are set by the Or. Health Authority state wide. It's really close to following a military style MOPP 3.
Been on the phone off and on all night long with the Warden. Just about the time she would doze off and go to sleep, they came in and woke her up to take a set of vitals, change an IV bag or draw blood for more tests. And, I'd get a call shortly after. She's on rat poison for the artificial heart valve so they are having to thicken her blood up so they can do the surgery. To that end, I guess, they are giving her plasma in a rush program to build it up.
Surgery was postponed and she should be going in just a couple of minutes ago.. Dr. Johnson is going to call me after the surgery to fill me in and wanted to talk to me about other stuff she couldn't remember or didn't understand. Must have been time to take her to the pre-op as we just got cut off in mid sentence and I could hear a nurse in the background who had just come in the room. She says they haven't given her any happy juice, but I don't believe that. Trying to talk to her, I needed a decoder card to decipher the alphabet soup. Kind of funny really. And I will deny this should anyone repeat it to her at the GTG in June.
I never leave home without them Roy! Sometimes I even take the bullets out of my pocket and put them in the gun.

Hang in there Jim. We're here rooting for ya'll here in the east.
Having just gone through the hospital nightmare personally, I can't say how much I would love to see this come to a close.
Call me if you need to blow off some steam. I can listen well, and get yelled at. Many years of practice, I was married 2 times before I found a good one, so I'm good at getting yelled at and not yelling back.....LOL

Thanks everyone.
Warden is out of Surgery. The Doc said it went really well. The injury and resulting damage went much deeper than they originally thought or expected. He's trying to see if he can get her released tomorrow or Saturday and just see her in his office every 2 or 3 days. In addition to the packing, she's now going to need a wound vac for at least a couple of weeks. Apparently the Case Manager and Insurance doesn't like to let them go home from the hospital or rehab/recovery center with a wound vac. Don't know much about that kind of machine so I guess we'll find out later today or tomorrow morning when the doctor calls me again.
So it's looking better, we're not out of the woods, she has a heck of a crater and hole in her, but I think we can cautiously say we can see the clearing ahead through the remaining trees.

Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else.
Was talking to the Warden on the phone, if that is what you could call it....kind of wishing I had some of the stuff they are giving her.
She's hurting this evening and the doubled her pain meds. She is also stuck laying in one position. If she moves wrong, she sets of an alarm. If she gasps, she sets off an alarm, if she moves too much on the bed, she sets off an alarm, Every time she bends her arm to take a drink of water, she sets off an alarm...Yep, she is one happy camper.
