canopy compatibility

Hello,

I saw a canopy removed from a 2013 f-150 for sale on craigslist. Will this fit on my 2019 F-150? Both vehicles have 6-1/2 bed.
Thank you.

Edited: If to buy new ones, I am looking to buy the basic models just for keeping stuff out of weather. Got a quote for ARE V series for $1500. What is the purpose of the side windows? I can order without them for $50 less. The canopy gotta be stronger without side windows. Is it a good idea?

Is LEER better than ARE?

Thanks.

I remember a post on one of the F150 sites that said they were able to get a previous gen cap to fit. I do not remember how close it was or if it hung over/under much.

15+ trucks

Both Leer and ARE make quality products.

If you just want basic what about the cheaper aluminum caps offered?

Are you putting racks on the cap to haul something? If not I really would not worry about strength

As for windows I prefer them honestly and If I ever ordered a new cap it would have side windows that open

No I dont need racks. Just a plain cap to keep the stuff dry. I bought a used cargo glide.
What's the reason behind wanting windows? Just for ventilation? Keep stuff cool in the summer? its my first truck so dont known what I am going to deal with owning a cap.

We have had caps on several of our trucks. All the same have also had racks on them from Rack-it, so the racks were built with outriggers such that the cap could be removed/replaced without unbolting the rack. The Leer and ARE caps were narrow enough that they could slide in/out without interfering with the rack. There was another cap we looked at that had a smoother transition to the sides of the box, and that flare (for lack of a better word) would interfere. Sorry I don't remember the brand as it was along time ago.

All of the caps also had sliding windows. This is because we sometimes took the trucks camping, and the ventilation was important. If you don't mind the inside of the cap being stifling in the summer sun, you might not want or need the windows. The windows probably also make them a little more expensive.

The 2013 and the 2015+ trucks have completely different bodies. The topper may fit the bed, but won’t flow with the body lines of the cab.

To me the windows are for ascetics. They look weird to me with no windows. Also nice if you want to "camp" in the bed you can have some ventilation.

To me the windows important are for looking through "big blind spot without them. If I was buying new I would order the flip up side windows makes getting to stuff in the front of the bed much nicer.

Also I think the tailgate profile is different
