2004 Explorer, V6, 2WD - Accidentally drained transmission fluid...help?
Sooooo....let's say "someone" accidentally drained their transmission fluid instead of the oil pan during an oil change...how would "someone" put transmission fluid back in? There's no transmission dipstick on mine. If this is something I have to take to a shop to have done, is it typically expensive? Can I drive it....gently? The "someone" is feeling like a major jack-***. Thanks.

As Fordmerc described, you can fill the transmission through the drain plug, sort of. The drain plug should be a two-piece plug. The smaller, center drain plug has a stand pipe. If you fill through that stand pipe while the truck is level, the fluid will start to drain back out if overfull. When the oil is just drips, put the center plug back in and call it good.
