I did wheels on truck, didnt effect tires, spray on let sit 5 minutes spray off with water hose, I did mine in driveway keep direct sun off wheels, I tried the power ball, it was bigger pain trying to get wheels polished than old fashion elbow grease, Mothers Aluminum Polish is what I use, it dont take much, it will turn black, and you dont have to press hard when smearing it on, then buff off with microfiber towel, and as far as constant cleaning, I polish them once a year, which is less than me washing truck once a week, did them 4yrs ago

JimN33 your wheels look great!

Don't know if this adds to this thread or just distracts it, but in February I put these on my 1995 Bronco for the 31 x 10.50 R15 studded Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs for Winter.

American Racing AR172 Baja 106.30 each 15 x 8 5-139.70 - 19 SLPOXX

On my previous identical set of wheels which were stolen, I did what torq'ta 5 8 did and finished them with Sharkhide which I thought turned out well.

stole! that blows! I have come to dislike the locking lug nut, re-todds at tire places cant keep from stripping them, or forget to put back! takes a lot of cahonies and time to steal wheels! my yard is boobie trapped, your tricked by the little yelping sh** eaters til you climb fence, then neighbors dog 'peewee'(hes a Rottweiler) comes out from his nap(not happy...ever) and its too late to get back! ha..haha

Love you Bronco!!

Looks great, Tim!!! And thanks for ADDING to the thread. I shop for Broncos just about every day. I’ve found a few good deals, just never pulled the trigger. And prices have gone through the roof. Just curious, do you take the top off? Seems most don’t.

Jim I think your wheels look fantastic. Everyone seems to call that style "wagon wheels" around here. They are one of my favorite style wheels.

Thanks!!

Thank you!! Yeah, I’ve heard them referred to as wagon wheels, rally wheels, and I think Ford called them styled steel wheels. I catch myself staring at them on the truck. I’ll try to get a better picture up soon.

JimN33: If you find a beater Bronco, you may want to take the top off. If you find a clean one, you will never want to take the top off.

I had a International Scout when I was a teenager and took the top off -- once. Hoisted it to the garage ceiling. Lots of bolts, afraid it would flex and break the glass. Hard to line up when putting it back on. Complete top came off. No fixed portion over the driver and passenger seat, like the Bronco. It was fun for a Summer, but once I put it back on, I never took it off again.

The Jeep is the best non-topped vehicle IMHO. The Bronco suits my needs better. It is short like a Jeep, but more civilized for its time. I use 4x4 in the Winter. Tops are good in snow storms...

I would like to see the pin striping close up. And if you could source it for us, I am sure that it would be appreciated.

Hey Tim,

In reverse order: I'll try to get some up close pix of the wheels and trim rings. The trim rings are original that I bought from a guy in Texas. I used SOS pads to clean them up and get the original paint off. Was going to repaint, but looking at the reliefs, I thought 3M Vinyl pinstripe might be a quicker, easier way to go. The reliefs provided an easy edge to follow, although I had to do each stripe separately. Not perfect, but look really good to me. I'll post up a pic of my leftover tape, including the packaging. Purchased on Amazon. I'll also retrieve order info for the wheels and centers. Both of those were delivered in under a week. Vendor names to follow.

OK, Bronco tops...I should share that I have a 2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (2 door, long wheel base), 4.0L, 6-spd, 2" OME lift with 31" BFG KO2s. My '06 LJ had both factory hard and soft tops. Swapping them out with a hoist was still a 2 person job, but we could knock it out pretty quick. I sold the '06 in '13, and missed it so much I bought the '05 last year...soft top only. Only has 52K miles. I shop for Broncos every day, but will likely never get one. I dig my Jeep, and I also have a 2011 Mustang GT convertible. SO I feel like I have GO FAST and GO ANYWHERE pretty well covered, haha. The 95 F150 is the weekend errand truck.

Ok, I'll try to get the vendor info posted sometime this week.

JimN33 Well you confirmed my feelings about both the Bronco and the Jeep. I used to look around for a Jeep to keep parked in the mountains without a top on ever. Just bungee a tarp over it for the Winter and leave it parked under the snow until Spring. But I will probably never have the extra funds for that. So I can relate...

torq'ta 5 8 The only thing I don't like about the aftermarket AMR wheels is the center caps. The don't accept the Ford oem center caps. IMHO, Ford got those right on the oem wheels (which I run in the Summer). Yours remind me how clean and stout they look. Good job buddy!

JimN33 and torq'ta 5 8 and the others in this thread with only a few posts (except for Conanski who if you haven't figured out already is one of the most knowledgeable posters on this forum), don't be a stranger. Remember, millions of these vehicles were sold. So, any problems you solve with yours will help others solve theirs, either now or in their future searches. Keep it up.

I got a knee slapper...almost... I learned about Mothers many moons ago from an older gentleman that was doing coke cans to hang, (making 2" wide polished stripes), in his Pecan Tree to keep squirrels and blue jays out, because his wife said NO! to killing. and the closest wheel to our 10 holes is Weld Draglites, I had to sit down when I seen price! Man have they went up! a place in Huntsville, Ala. will widen your wheels with warranty, not much cheaper than buying the Welds, I have a plan I'm working on about the center emblem plastic being yellow now, I'll post results, and if it wasnt for this forum, my truck would not be anywhere near the running order its in, so every chance I get to give back, I'm all in! Thanks again FTE guru's

JimN33,
Can you tell me exactly what type and size pin striping you used on your redline beauty rings. My old e-mail is not active for this account so maybe you can text me the information or use my work e-mail. blloyd@cityoftulsa.org.

I have 4-5 sets of these rings and want to spruce them up.
