Upper Oil Pan Leak

Local Ford Dealer said there is no leak. MMM then what is that. I have exactly 23,000 thousand miles. All I smell is oil while driving. Also note why would they put dye in. If they state there is no leak.

Have you ever noticed how when there is a problem that pops up here and there, that problem is fixed, even if the fix is expense. When later it turns out the problem appears to be a design or assembly flaw that is going to cost lots of money to repair, if repairable at all, suddenly the choices are, "There is no problem", or "Operating as designed".

Instead of telling the service department that there is a leak, you should ask them to tell you what the fluid is and where it came from.

I already tried that one . There was it a seepage and not a leak. They are trained well in being able to not duplicate a problem. Especially when u can see it. But they can't . How many of you guys get Ford f250- lemon law letters in the mail. I know I can't be the only one.

I’ve got the same leak in same spot. After researching, it seems this is quite common, which is ridiculous considering the transmission, transfer case and driveshafts must come out to get to it. BTW - I had 1200 miles when I noticed mine. Needless to say, I’m not too happy about it. Going to leave it as is unless it gets worse.

Got the same problem with out 2018 F150. There has been a fluid seeping down from the area in between the engine and trans since new. It is not engine oil or trans fluid and dealer told us originally it was excess grease from the flywheel and if it was still seeping at the first oil change they'd look into it more. We took it back because it did not get any better and now they are saying it's excess fluid film even though I did not spray any fluid film in that area.

Maybe it's just me but it seems like there has been a lot more issues in the last 3-4yrs than in the past and it's always our fault or "it's normal". It makes me want to hold onto my '13 for awhile since it's been a solid truck.

Yeah its normal for A truck to have seepage nowadays Especially for a ford Diesel. I buy a new every five years its one out Of three that will leak. Yeah I like to have a 80,000 Dollar truck that smells of burnt oil. The worst part they told me was it a stripped oil drain plug . Two different times at almost two years apart. It's been seeping since Dec 2016. It's been three dealers and they say same excuses taught to them.

I had an upper oil pan leak on my 2015 6.7. It looked about as bad as the picture in the OP’s post. It wasn’t really dripping, just kinda weeping/seeping. The dealer didn’t hesitate to fix it under warranty. Did I get lucky?
