2008 f250 leveling kit removal questions

Hey all new to the forums. I recently picked up an 08 F250 with the 6.4. Truck has a revtech 6125 leveling kit already installed. I love the way the truck looks, however I have an issue with the way it tows. I have a 30 ft gooseneck that gets pulled from time to time when they dually (it's a dirtymax we won't go there) is unavailable. I hooked up to it a week ago. Had a mild load on the trailer, disk mower and duals of a tractor. So wasn't overloaded by any means. Now the issue happened around 45mph. The rearend of the truck started hoping pretty bad. I'm guessing from the fact that the rearend was sitting pretty low compared to the front while not actually having much weight on the suspension. Then today I was hooked to a 16ft dual axle bumper hitch trailer with a small tractor, about 2200lbs. Had some small stability issues, that should not happen, minor fishtail in the trailer. I've pulled same setup behind an 01 Yukon and it pulled fine, a little pissy, bit fine.

So, I looking at removing the leveling kit and putting back to stock height. The front blocks look like they can be removed and just reassemble all parts. The issues is I can't find out what the stock blocks for the rear are or what parts are needed. Any input would be much appreciated.

Seems like you have bad shocks or really tired leaf springs

The shocks are Bilstein 5100 and have 25k or less on them. I'll check them though to make sure.

If it has aftermarket rear blocks, then it is isn't just leveled, it has full lift. The problems you are describing sound like they have nothing to do with leveling/lift kit. Sounds like you have something else going on. If the trailer is fish tailing, the easiest problem to remedy is hitch height. If the problem persist, I would begin to look at suspension components. The leveling kit is not the cause of this.

What size are the factory blocks? It was only having issues when hooked to a gooseneck. Is there a way to test the leaf springs, or is there a measurement? I haven't had a chance to pick up a service manual yet.

Even with worn out springs, I can't see how it would have the problems you are describing. My truck is a 14, so the measurements would be different someone else with an 08 can give you the specs. Got a pic of the truck, we can at least tell if it is in fact lifted.

This sounds like a trailer loading /balance issue. Sounds like not enough tongue weight to keep the suspension loaded. Move the load forward.

Yep, it has about 2.5" in the front and definitely has 4" replacement blocks. The factory blocks are 2" tall. I don't see anything wrong with the kit at all. I think you are having loading/trailer issues. That truck should pull anything you want it to in the configuration it is in now.
