Rollpans..Calling all truck owners with roll pans
Lets see how many of you dentside owners have roll pans... I am currently at college for Auto Body and 2 weeks before I left I came across a rust free bed.. couple days later it ended up on the back of my '79 F150 . When i built the flatbed for my truck I junked the bent up rear bumper and would rather stay away from putting one back on it.. I currently have access to all the tools I need to build my own roll pan I just dont have any dimesions, etc. as the truck is at home in the shed and I am in a different state. Hopefully someone out there has pictures for reference etc.

Might be quicker and cheaper to just buy one? Styleside Rear Roll Pans | 1973-79 F100 - F150 - F250 | LMC Truck But since you are in Auto Body collage guess you have time and material to practice. I'd guess all you have to do is get the angle of the part under the tail lights to match. Sorry I am not near my trucks either, to get you some measurements of at least the width. A measurement of the angle under the taillights is not going to help either, but a cardboard or card stock pattern would be an idea on how to go without the truck there.
I would upload some pics, but that part of FTE seems to be broken today.

Yeah, get the angle right, figure out the width (top to bottom) and the length (side to side), cut it a few inches longer so as to be long enough to tuck under each of the quarter panels, and then flange half of that extra length on each end, so it will tuck under the quarter panel corners and still be level with the quarters' outer sheet metal.
I'd think you'd want at least a couple holes on each end for spot welds, and probably along the top of it too.
