Golf Cart in F250 Short Bed?
#17
I have a 2017 F350 CC, SB with 6.7 and put my golf cart in the bed. It is a 2013 EZGO, 6" lift, 14" rims with a backseat and platform for backseat passengers. Typical golf cart you see in Ocean Lakes. The 2013 or around that time increased the length of the front springs by 2" . After buying it from Grahams in Myrtle Beach I knew that it was going to be too long to comfortably fit. They had no problem putting on the shorter front spring pack that came on the older EZGO's. I put 2x8 boards in the bed that are long enough for me to just get my rear wheels on to raise the back up a little more. I can not close my tailgate all the way but get to about a 30 degree angle. I ratchet the tailgate as much as possible. I don't use an extender hitch as my TT is 36' long and 9500 lbs. No issues at all. Been towing a golf cart for 7 years and previous truck was a 2009 F250 CC, SB.

A HD diamond back cover could be an option. There's guys hauling razors on them. You could have custom rear extension ramps installed to support the rear of the cart. Depending on how long they would need to be could affect turning of course. Also could do a ramp angled towards the cab that would bring the front of the cart up some and be able to clear the rear of the bed. Plus on the cover is that you would still have use of the bed to store things.

This is awesome to hear. So i need to be looking at a pre-2013, or change out the springs if I buy newer? Do you have ramps for loading that you recommend? I just started my search on all of this, and I know nothing about them. I just know they range from 36V to 72V and more expensive than I would have thought!!

SIAP, but if you don’t need the bed for towing, what about a bed extender to keep the cart in the truck if it’s a little too big where you can’t close the tailgate and you can still pull a travel trailer while maintaining the cart in the truck bed without need of an additional trailer. Much cheaper and easier alternative IMO.

Maybe slightly different thought. Why not get 2 or 3 scooters. I routinely put 2 Honda metropolitans in my short bed, for race weekends. 3 will fit if you alternate their directions. They are light enough to lift them in by yourself, one end at a time. Used metropolitans are cheap, not everyone would have to come and go at the same time, as on a cart; they are licensable for the street and have lockable storage below the seat for grocery runs.
