The vent set up looks factory. If those are AC controls to the lower right of your cigarette lighter, then it is probably aftermarket. My understanding is that dealer installed AC had controls on the dash where the double vents are.

No.
There were two types of dealer installed A/C, Deluxe & Economy. This isn't either of them, see pics below.

Factory installed integral A/C is combined with the heater, the A/C controls are in the same panel as the heater controls.

HUGE A/C evaporator case located at the right rear corner of the engine compartment.

yes, those controls are for the AC. I think it is aftermarket too but what's tripping me up is the vents in the dash. Guess it is aftermarket. I'm in the midst of trying to figure out if I want to purchase this truck. This AC setup is not working so I'm trying to figure out how much it's going to cost to get it working before I make an offer on the truck. What do you think worst case scenario is to get this working again a thousand?

Vents in the dash also used with heater & optional Hi/Lo Comfort Vent System.

well, a replacement system kit seems to run in the $1200 range. Just depends on what you can salvage from the existing system. Is the compressor kicking in at all? If so, does the dryer have a spyglass hole on it and
can you see any refrigerant circulating? Unfortunately, A/C not working is a pretty broad generalization and you could have problems in hoses, compressor, condenser, dryer, TXV, evaporator, blower fan... and that is just the mechanical issues.

Yes, I agree. I'll have to do more research or speak to the seller about having it looked at by a qualified AC shop. Thanks for the input guys.

Black triangle in front of basic part number = Only serviced with 18549 assembly.

This pic has nothing to do with A/C, as it shows the heater controls used with the optional Hi/Lo Comfort Vent System.

IF your truck had factory installed integral A/C, the A/C controls would be in the same panel as the heater controls...and would be marked AIR CONDITIONING.

But your truck does not have any type of Ford A/C, as the control under the dash is aftermarket.

Are you speaking about my pic? It's a Hi Lo control? Cant find a pic of the hi/lo control online. I agree, no ac on temp control so it wasn't factory. I am inquiring if anyone knows where this aftermarket AC control is from (if it is not the hi/lo control). I cant take it out as it's not my truck yet so a pic is all I have. Thought maybe someone would recognize it.
