I just torched the brackets off until I had the engine out like two months later, when I pulled them off.

Good call on using the 350 springs

I put my leafs on backwards too... OOPS!! LOL

When you attach your brake lines to the calipers, make sure and use new copper crush washers. I made that mistake...

The deed is mostly done, some ends I need to get complete but it's driving around just fine.
The track bar won't line up and that's really aggravating. I need an alignment, it's loose as hell.
Oh and this happened...

I actually ended up not putting my track bar on. From what I understood at the time, they're really unnecessary on leaf sprung trucks. I put my sway bar in and called it good.

If you're handy with a welder, you could put a threaded portion to the rod similar to a tie rod, or get one of those adjustable track bars from some off road supplier.

I think that sway bars are absolutely necessary though and make the ride much nicer.

You have definitely made a lot of progress. How did you chunk the front hub? Trying to remove the outer section?
I am curious to hear other’s comments about the track bar. My 78 4wd doesn’t have one and has done fine for 340k miles but I am not familiar enough with the true ‘needs’ of this suspension to know if the track bar is truly needed

This is in my next to do list on my 97 f250. I did the auto the manual swap last april, been searching for a reasonably priced f350 parts truck but can't seem to find the right deal.

The track bar was absolutely necessary on my truck. Without it, I would get some nasty death wobble if I hit a bump just right at the right speed.

I have driven the truck around at highway speed and it did fine with no track bar, I'm going to try to get it to fit/ get an adj track bar just for the peace of mind. It's at the shop right now getting aligned.

To take out the old axle I had to cut off the bolts for the leafs with a cutoff wheel. Then I undid the drive shaft and brake lines. The I took off the pitman arm, and took out the pivot bearing bolts. When you remove those be ready to duck and cover cuz the axle is going to fall onto the ground. It all went pretty quick so I may be missing steps.

Oops I realize now you were asking how I got that big *** hole in the hub lol. Well you see I saw there was a stud missing and paid no mind to it. First test drive I hear a very loud pop. I drive back home and pull off the tire to see the old stud had been in the hub and decided to make a guest appearance

I drove mine for a couple weeks without the track bar before I first experienced the death wobble. It was an absolute s#!t your pants moment; I thought the front axle had come off!

I still haven't experienced it... Or I am just used to driving death traps.

I have a PMF RSK with SD Xcode springs, a drop pitman arm, and 35" tires.

I got the track bar on today, I guess it just needed some settling to line up. My truck now has a shuddering feeling when I get around 50+(not related to the track bar). I doubt it, but, could this be because I don't have the front driveshaft in and the tcase isn't happy? Just spitballing here.

No that won't hurt a thing. Are the lock out hubs locked in, or are they in the free position. You might get some motion if they are in the lock position. Are the tires balanced? This definitely give you a shutter if they are out of balance.
