Firing order is correct. Haven’t checked timing because although it was pretty bad, it did start and idle when I got it. Last time it ran it was really rough, black smoke out exhaust almost loping or revving so I adjusted carb. Finally got it to where I thought I could take it for a spin and it died. Tried the rest of day and would not start, just blow gas out top of carb and sputter. That’s why I cleaned and rebuilt carb because of all the extra fuel. Yes I can look into carb and it seems dry now. Just small stream of fuel shoots in when I turn throttle with ignition on. I’m going to plug all vacuum lines, cap off egr valve and check timing

Have you tried advancing the ignition timing a few degrees and then try and start her up?

Or retarding the ignition timing?

Wouldn't hurt anything to try...

Before moving the dist. mark it at the base & block so if the advancing dose not help you can put it back where you know it ran at one time.

I wouldn't touch the timing until you get it running, don't want to add another problem to the equation.

The only thing that's changed since it was running is the carb rebuild, correct? I would look there. Verify the carb base/gasket is bolted down good though not overly tight.

Could you have made a mistake while putting the carb back together? Throttle return spring missing? Float set too high? Mixture set too rich? wrong gasket used?

Maybe plug wires are out of phase...

Honestly I think it was a few different things but I went through carb again. Capped off pretty much all emissions except pcv and vacuum advance to distributor. Smog pump is still hooked up but I’m gonna delete that too just waiting on cap for Where the air check valve is. Once all that was done I cranked while a buddy moved the distributor a little and it fired up. Timing was way off. Set timing to about 10 advanced, hooked up vacuum gauge and timed carb to highest vacuum I could get and drive it around for about 2 hours the other day. Did pretty good. Think it could still be adjusted a little bit but I’ll wait till it’s warmer outside
