I have the Mercury letters and the hood that goes with them so the holes are there already. I was missing the letter C but a friend had one to spare. The letters need work because of all the pitting. I had bought chrome self stick letters just in case but will only use them as a last resort..
are the letters on your light lens stick on chrome letters? I was thinking of doing that but having a hard time finding letters small enough..

Haha yes it was Kevin, nice guy, but can't justify it just because rare. I have 3 sets of the MERCURY front emblems now, one very good condition except the C is scraped. The others I will tinker with and fix eventually. I made a template for my hood based off my fathers Mercury. I just don't want to drill the holes, as they were there previously and welded in. Could become a mess! Let's see the stick ons, I'm curious. May shave the tabs on the back of a set and find a way to stick on. Ever since this truck was tied down to trailer, it leans left sitting there. The cab was initially square with the box until being tied down. Initial thought was to check all the cab mounts as it was a fresh build, they look good. Haven't put it on hoist to dig too far into it yet, but any ideas? I may start by loosening all cross members etc and seeing if bound up

That doesn't look too bad. I have accumulated 3 sets now. One set is very good minus the C is scraped. Thinking of chroming the middle set. Most likely will fill, sand, and paint the worst pitted set silver. We will see how things go. I now see why I couldn't get that license plate for my dad haha. Attempted to get that one, 56 FORD, and 56 F100. I ordered 1956M100 for the Merc last week. My last customer plate took ages to arrive, so I am curious how long it will be this time with the covid-19 situation.
