Longer pitman arm, improved turn radius?

An interesting experience relayed by a friend has been making me think: he had an f250 and changed his pitman arm when he raised it to an offset arm from an F350. He said his turn radius improved dramatically. He said it seemed about half an inch longer than the f250. Wonder if anyone had had a similar experience?

He said it would hit his bump stops after the change and so he wasn't worried.

If its longer, the end of it will travel a longer distance

There is no difference between a stock F-250 and an F-350 Pittman arm.

Doesn't change the steering stops, which I can hit just fine. Pre-05 4x4s you're not getting the tires past the leaves either, that's the final limitation on turning radius.

Will mine doesn't hit the stops right now. The traits sucks, but never considered and other option. And after looking at some arms online, the center of hole on F350 is. 25" longer

An aftermarket one could be longer. How much extra travel you get may be a fraction of an inch

Wouldn't a fraction of an inch equate to a noticeable difference in turn radius though? If I'm not hitting the bump stops, I am not turning as sharply as I could conceivably turn. Seems like a worthwhile mod if it has no other adverse side effects. Part of the reason I posted this question is in the hope that someone has some experience before I try it.

I haven't done that type of math in like 15 years, but yes it will help the radius.

It will push the link forward too and may make the steering wheel a little of center. Probably very little but...

Then you have a problem not related to the pitman arm.

Has anyone else had someone else turn the steering wheel and see if they hit the bump stop? The trick is 4wd,so I expect a larger raid, but when I saw that it didn't, then I assume it is at the gearbox limits, and not the limit of the wheels.
