I think what you already have is in better shape than what I have, mostly old rims and some steering boxes

I have tons of rims and a few steering gear boxes. Likely all of my steering gear boxes are worn out in the same place.

I'm not sure if these are good or bad, My trucks all have racks in them and this one will too..

Mine aren`t that far advanced, only the Mustang has that.

My panel had a steering box in it until I bought a whole new front suspension for it, drives beautifully now..

I`m sure it was a big improvement. That`s like the old 60`s Mustangs I used to have and the 2015 I have now, there is no comparison in handling and steering.

Easy to screw up if one doesn`t know what they are doing.

Not really if you measure a couple times before you start welding and follow directions..

That`s the two things I have the most trouble with, measuring and welding.

I can make things stick together and a grinder is my best friend when it comes to welding.
